hey RG / JETS3T8: it was awesome meeting you at SS, the car looked amazing!

did you create a whole new user name?? haha.
You know, could have just had a moderator change your old name to this. Let me know, I'll point you in the right direction

If that is a pull is to red line that actually looks kinda what I would consider fast...

New crankcase vent setup is in place (-8AN & -12AN), next week the E85 goes in and then hopefully/finally onto the dyno...

I read from another post that you have the adaptronics and is feeling some delayed throttle response.

I am getting a adaptroncis installed, and already spoken to Andy from adaptronics in regards to this issue, basically he said that the delayed response can be tuned out, and sent this for me in his most recent email

It is something that's tunable:
- in some respects the RX8 is going to be a bit slower than the RX7 because it has an electronic throttle. There are other ways to tune the transient throttle other than this method, it's just the method that works best on most cars.

Hope that helps!

Regards
Jason

That was an old post from an older model Adaptronics ECU that I was using and I should have updated it to reflect that I did "tune out" the delayed response. So you're absolutely right Jason.

I'm not using the drive by wire throttle body any more as you can see but I still did use the "Transient Throttle" Predicted Map Table in the new ECU to tune out the delays with the custom 80mm throttle body that I have now.

Anyways, I can't say enough great things about the new ECU, easy to use, robust features and GREAT support from Andy at Adaptronics!

ah no worries, you never know how old the posts are when you are searching hahaha

Glad everything working out good, you updated to the adaptronics specifically made for the rx8 now?

No promises yet, but xtreme rotary may be knocking up better mounting brackets for the adaptronics unit, so you can retain all factory ecu box water proofing

And can be purchased here:

Yeah, thanks to the Forge UNOS manual boost controller that I finally installed...wastgate doesn't creep open anymore, holds boost nice and solid. Adjustments are crisp with the ratchet type adjuster. It's open all the way right now on the soft spring that it comes installed with, it also comes with a stiffer spring for some really insane booooooost!

Nice I have been researching manual boost controllers (even bumped a 5 year old thread about it) and that one has not come up. I'll have to check it out.

Check out this thread, it's a recent head to head review of some of the more popular MBC's out there:

I am not going to post the RWHP results yet. This is by FAR the highest rwhp MSP that I know of, by a landslide.. Side Exhaust Ports can't make power my A**

At a mere 14psi it was spinning the tires on the dyno.. and it was spiking to 30+psi...
