Anytime you mention the F series at least a whole page of bashing comes next.. It's inevitable.

Hey I only bashed the bootup time!

And rightfully so. I experienced this first hand. Didn't just read about it online.

Not sure if anyone noticed but this kit won't fit an '09. Different design on the dash and trim. There's nothing to come out except on top and that won't fit the Speedline kit either.

It never claimed to, it has always stated 04-08.

Of course the 8120.. it's much newer than the D3. But its more expensive, so you'll have to weigh the benefits on your own.

im with flyboyindy, that will never happen. at least not with flash based memory.

I used to have a Panasonic Strada, its HDD based, sure the map is really out of date (2005) but at least all its function works, use it for a year cant find any bugs. boot time 3 seconds.

Talking Pics of installed Metra dash kit

As promised, pics of my Alpine IVA-W505 installed with Metra flat black dash kit. Installation includes Bose adapter and steering wheel control adapter. My installer said that the kit looks like it was made for the 505 - a perfect fit. Check out the customized text on the heads up display...

Display customization?

How about a few words from Metra to answer that question.

Wow nice! Everything as explained.. Time, AC, amb. temp...

Could you scan more of the manuals? That would be GREATLY appreciated.

Oh and yeah.. flat black isn't that bad, but I would definitely want the glossy. It would all be cool, except for the center buttons that are glossy.

My thoughts exactly.

Fit looks decent. I'd have to see more pics to really call it great.

Custom text display is in the final version. Sweet.

I couldn't help but notice the flat black doesn't seem to be textured. The corksport kit seems to blend a little better. (Talking strictly flat black here) Take a look compared to the ash tray cover. Versus the 1st pic he posted.

Here's another one of the corksport

Hmm, from that pic ... it fits MUCH better than Corksport/Kenatech kit.

it even includes the steering wheel control and customize display .... hmm

Im thinking maybe I should make the switch ....

I guess I'll wait till the kit could be order and ship within 24 hours ... lol ~

He says installation includes steering wheel controls, can we confirm that the adapter is indeed in the kit?
