If you do change your mind and go with the glossy finish, make sure you get a kit with the better paint finish. The earlier kits had an orange peel look to them and looked pretty bad. Not sure how many of these are still sitting on shelves.

so i picked up the flat black kit. looks great imo, but have a serious problem. nothing that connects to the axxess box works except the emergency lights and fan speed control. like the top display doesn't work and the HVAC controls don't work (except the fan speed). i hear about soldering the connections, but can't seem to understand which connections i'm trying to solder. could anyone maybe post a picture of the connections, or maybe an explanation of which connections we're talking about? is it the connections INSIDE the axxess box? also, everything worked perfect before and still works when put back to stock.

Metra kit HELP!
I successfully installed mine plus the steering controls and everything is working perfectly fine. but I'm having a BIG situation... The Manual included with the kit says to plug "the factory" LCD display cable on the back of the axxess unit but the cable end plug is BIGGER than the axxess port where it's supposed to fit.
Does anyone knows if there's maybe an adapter or something??? I can't stand not having the LCD screen display anymore

I think I remember having one plug that size (the one shown in the picture that is not plugged in) that was not plugged into anything? Make sure you removed the harness from the factory head unit. I took a quick look at the instructions and it looks like you remove it in step 8. That harness should bring that down to the right size.

The "Factory LCD cable" Is the black cable that is connected to the bracket at the top rear of the radio and is routed along the side of the radio (through and under the bracket) to the rear of the front faceplate. You need to remove the bracket from the radio, remove the radio faceplate, disconnect the cable from the front faceplate circuit board and finally remove the cable and connector from the bracket. The end of the cable that was attached to the faceplate is connected to the Axxess box, and the other end reconnects to the Display cable.

That is the LCD module.
The cable is attached to THE FACTORY RADIO...
When you remove the FACTORY RADIO, you disconnect two (2) cables in order to remove the FACTORY RADIO from the dash...
The first cable is the large 24-PIN main connector, located at the lower right of the radio (looking from the front of the radio).
The second cable you need to disconnect is the LCD cable, located at the top center of the FACTORY RADIO... Once the LCD is disconnected, you need to disassembe the FACTORY RADIO to release the extension cable that the LCD was connected to. - THIS IS THE CABLE YOU NEED!! (I have highlighted it in the attached photo)
