umm did you read above?

and why dont you just open yours up ?
it has not been mounted yet.

Call Av and ask them to email you the wireig diag and the mod for the svideo connection.. even though the svideo connection will not give you over 350 lines of resolution.

Thew,

This guy PM'ed me for the scematics. I didn't respond. It sounds like he found a distributor for the core unit and he is trying to duplicate Avelectronics work. I just didn't feel right about giving him access to someone else proprietary setup. If he wants to build one himself he should call AV and see if they are willing to help him. My $.02

Did we ever get those pics of the DVD player on the stock screen?
Is this something you gotta rip the whole car apart to install? Also, did a better picture ever fan out?

Update..

Today i got my DVD player mounted and setup. ITs mounted in the pass through hole just behind the door. it fits perfectly. and the storage box is perfect to hold dvds. I mounted the I/R recever in the mp3 blank in the head unit. next to the I/R for the AVelectronics box. and now in the middle of that is my V1 radar screen ....

Anyway .. Note to anyone thats going to use a Camera with there nav screen.. I found that when the camera was hooked into the power and ground no matter where, I got really bad screen Noise and rolling.. So , Pick up a 15.00 audio Noise filter from Radio Shack http://www.radioshack.com/product.as...t%5Fid=270-051 and install that inline with the camera. That makes the video rock solid.

Also the entire system has an 8 guage braded ground wire that ties the oem isolated ground into all the other components.. except the Rear view camera.

Now i have rock steady video. even while the engine is running.
Pics tommorw. just the finished project. no DYI

BTW:

What is this "modification" avelectronics made all about?

I stated earlier that I am from Europe and over here is no distributer for the avelectronics stuff... Ordering in overseas is much too expensive, so we have to improvise here. Don't be so negative to DeeJay Pico! I would like to do this mod myself as well, but it seems like only the box Deejay Pico has bought is available here...

So, what is the difference between those two?

@DeeJay Pico:

Does your Box have seperated RGB and sync outputs?

Oh, I just mentioned the differnence on a pic . There is a grey cable coming out of the avelectronics unit where there is the antenna jack usually. Isn't there any way someone could post a pic of the opened box, so that we can see if we could do this modification ourselfes??? I repeat that I am not trying to sell anything. This is just meant to be made for my own car!

well just call the avelectronics people then they have been very helpful.. they well send you a drawing.. but i am not ripping mine out of my ca to take a pic of the inside..

Now why is the shipping so much ? that seems kinda odd to me.. i mean maybe it will cost 50 bucks ? to ship it.. i just had stuff shipped to me from Japan.. that was not bad at all..

took 2 weeks . cost 28 dollers !!

You mustn't forget the additional 16% taxes! Makes 75$. Plus 50$ for shipping. Plus 525$ for the box itself.

Makes an overall price of roundabout 650$...

Sorry, no way!

The box is pretty expensive itself in my opinion, regarding that I already have a working Nav-System, but 650$ are way too much! For 700 Euro I could buy a whole new system!

hehe the systems cost 2000$ here .. thats the OEM systems.

The av box is the easyest and most used so far.. you are paying for the fact that it will work out of the box. no messing around .
