Any pics? These must have only been available within the last 2-3 days, because I've been watching the pre-order status pretty closely. Did you get just the brake lights or turn signals as well? Ease of install? More info and some pics would be helpful.

Watch out for the rear tail light LED set from Rotaryfx ...
Bought the set and they were not bright at all.

Could barely see them when they were on, and they were installed on a cloudy day.

The incandescent bulbs are at least 10x brighter than those LED's
I wouldn't feel safe driving with them on a sunny day for sure

Finally got the replacement gen 2 Tritons and everything is working perfectly.

I have the switchbacks installed up front (currently I just have them wired to the parking lights, but since series 1 RX-8's already have a dedicated parking light I may change this and wire it to ACC for true DRLs). These bulbs would be great for series 2 guys since they have an ugly amber parking light/turn signal combo bulb. These things are incredibly bright, way brighter than any LED I've had before, even brighter than the stock incandescent bulbs. And the whites look as bright as the headlights to oncoming cars, so very effective as DRLs.

Tail/brake lights are also working correctly now.

I'll hopefully be doing a full write up and photo shoot this weekend. And yes, I will get all the links updated on the first page also.

You really get what you pay for with LEDs, whether it's RotaryFX, eBay or even some of the cheaper bulbs on VLEDS site. Cheap LEDs aren't bright. Dim bulbs aren't safe.

All the bulbs listed in this thread are the brightest and safest possible.

Looking forward to the write up and some pics. I was about to place my order for the red Tritons for my tails, but the 7443 adapters are already out of stock. They're saying they should be back in by the end of the week. Hope they're right!

Im pretty confused with what these V3 Triton bulbs are, although they do look fascinating... Going to order 2 pair of 6K WHITE CREE LED 3W HIGH POWER BULBS for my parking light bulbs/glovebox/license plate... along with 6K WHITE 4 LED 2 WATT HP FLANK for my Clear corners...

Its been about 3 Years since Ive replaced my LED's so its about time.

Although I need a good recommendation for some Tail light LEDs as I still have my stock bulbs in there...

Edit: Okay so, Im doing some brief research on the V3 Triton, but Im confused as to what color would go into the tail light (red?). Also wondering even if I did order these V3 Triton bulbs (which are expensive as F*ck) would they even look good without having to replace all of my lights to LEDs (including my 3rd brake light)...

Suggestions?

Yeah, I was a little confused about these things when I first about them too. They're supposed to be super high output LEDs that are universal fit (with an adapter). The videos I've seen so far of the 1st gen bulbs weren't that stellar, but they were mostly of the amber blinkers and reverse lights.. I've yet to see one lit up inside an RX-8 taillight. Oh and red is what you want for the tails.

I think it would look a little off to have one LED and the rest incandescent, especially if you just replaced the taillights. Right now I've got a set of 20-LED Platinum bulbs for my reverse lights and I see no reason to replace them with $100 Tritons. They're super bright and very clean-looking. Plus now you can get them for only $30! 6K WHITE PLATINUM 7 WATT HIGH POWER 20 LED LIGHT BULBS 7440 7443 | 1 PAIR - 6K White LED - 7443 - 7440 LED - Bulb #

Hey guys, sorry I haven't posted pics yet. I actually went out to take some and noticed that half the LEDs in my little 4th brake light were out. Can't have that showing up in pics!

So now I'm finishing up this little V3 Triton project by restoring my factory 3rd brake light and using a V3 Triton bulb in it (done) and also putting a V3 Triton in my old Derwankel 4th brake light. Luckily I still had a pair of gen 1 V3 Tritons that will work fine for this application. The 4th brake is going to take a little customization though, but should be done in a few days. I promise I'll do a photoshoot then!

A few teaser pics:

I haven't seen any comparison shots between the Tritons and filament bulbs, so I thought I'd post one. Just a daytime pic with the brakes applied (filament on the left; Triton on the right), but they are definitely brighter than the filament bulb. Can't wait to see them at night.

Btw, I also installed a pair of the CREE 3W bulbs for my parking lights. Problem was, almost immediately they started going off for a few seconds, every few minutes. The old bulbs were extremely hot when I removed them, and these got similarly hot after a little while. Anyone know why the parking light bulbs are getting this hot? I'm assuming the CREE bulbs just can't handle the heat and are shutting down intermittently because of it. But I'm concerned that there is an electrical problem somewhere, causing the extreme heat.
