If you want true white HID's. Go with the 5000K-5500K. 6000K still has a small shade of blue in them. If you look at the new lexus vehicles you can notice their headlights are absolutely pure bright white, no hints of blue and no hints of yellow. Those are the 5000-5500k bulbs.

try 6000k hids, they match pretty good

Does anyone have pictures and feedback on the "spider"/"star" type LED lights for the taillight? Nearly impossible to pin point exact posts containing what I want in a 61 page thread...

^im also interested in them.. The only thing im concerned about it brightness... My friend has aftermarket bulbs in his car and when his running lights are on, i can hardly tell when he is braking.

Im hoping these actually light up bright.

Man, thank you Aipex8 for taking the time to share all this information and pictures. It all looks awesome and I've stolen just about all your ideas now!
Interior and exterior, excluding the rear. I just got done installing the lights in the engine bay and I'm SO happy with the result.
Still have to mount the strips on the underside of the hood though so I had to dig through this ENTIRE thread to try and find pictures of where you put yours to see if I liked it.

Did you just use the adhesive on the back of the LED strips and if so, is it staying put after all this time?

I'm planning on it soon ill post a picture if i can find one of when i had both........sorry couldn't find one of both but here is the one during the evening before the sun goes down without the brake depressed

Definitely looks good if they put out the same (if not better) brightness compared to the stock incandescent bulbs. I'd love to buy a pair because it just looks awkward when I have a bar type LED 3rd brake light and LED rotor accents while running factory brake light bulbs.

Where did you buy them?

i got them from Vleds a couple of years ago.
I just did a search on their site and they are out of stock under clearance so i assume they no longer make them unfortunately since i was looking to order a new pair.

I don't know if it's been mentioned in here before or not but the 194 flanking bulbs that you use in the side markers...they actually work in either polarity so if you have rewired your side markers to work as turn signals the side-firing LEDs will work.

I've been reluctant to buying LEDs for the side markers for that reason, but now I'mma order them!

I'm guessing the reason being, since they're side firing, in some applications you wouldn't be able to actually turn the bulb around to get the correct polarity, so they have to add a special circuit to the board to make it work either way. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

So when I get my rx8 back from the transmission ship, I'm finally going to ditch the stock bulbs.
First I'm going to change out the front. Would you guys look this over and tell me if this will match up color wise please?
6K WHITE 28 LED 13W FOG LIGHT BULBS H11 | 1 PAIR
6K WHITE 4 LED 2W HIGH POWER BULBS 194 168 158 | 1 PAIR

And second question
I have the stock hid bulbs and I believe they're 4k. Any recommendations on a 6k hid bulb that will match up nicely? V-led's.com doesn't have hids anymore.

Thanks for your help!!!!

Aftermarket LED lights look impressive when you look at them straight-on, but unless they're designed with the same dispersal pattern as the stock taillights, you can't be guaranteed that they'll be bright enough from odd viewing angles that occur often in daily driving. In fact, you can generally be guaranteed that they AREN'T bright enough from odd viewing angles, because most LEDs (at least the plastic-encased type) are designed with narrow beam angles to focus most of the light in one direction.

For accent lights LED retrofits work great, for visibility LED retrofits are surprisingly bad and usually illegal too. Stick with the stock incan bulbs, which have the correct beam pattern. Trust me, I'm a flashaholic.

I'm trying to figure out what LEDs to put in the window switches. I don't like the red there, and want to get some nice white ones. Has anybody changed those out yet? If so, what bulb size was it?

I remember taking that whole module out when I had to replace the bose amp in my door. To my recollection it is one whole piece and you cannot change those bulbs. They are built into the light module. If I am wrong, then it has to be those little dashboard lights i think they are called t8, if you know how small your map light bulbs are, these bulbs are roughly twice as small. More like leds that are soldered to a board.

Well they're both 6K so the color is the same. You won't find a 6K bulb to match a 4.7K bulb since they are different colors

I went with 5K for fogs and parking lights in the front and they match the stock HIDs pretty close.
