what happened?

I know its not an LED, but since we're on the topic of reverse lights I was wondering if you ever had any luck finding those Mirror White PIAA's. Last night I finally bought some Mirror Orange for my turn signals. I can't find those anywhere, not even on that Japan website anymore!! I wonder if they are as bright as those reverses that YeahYeah just posted...

You can find them on eBay sometimes. I think I'm going to go with LEDs now though.

oh wow lol... I misinterpreted what you said. I thought you said your brake light already stopped working from the group buy awhile ago. Haha I knew about all the shenanigans with WV

I was a bit concerned that they wouldn't be bright enough because they don't use the reflector housing at all, as the LEDs just fire straight out the back. But it looks to me like they will definitely get the job done. I daresay they look significantly brighter than the stock filament bulbs - though I'll have to check in the daytime as well.

Now I just need to find some good LEDs for taillights and turn signals and I'll be set.

I'll post pics of my taillight bulbs as soon as I get them (V-LEDs is located in WA too, so it usually only takes a day to get stuff from them). If you want bright, I think it's either the one's I got (20 LEDs, 7 watts total) or the V-Stars.

Thumbs up LED taillights!

OK, got my taillight bulbs installed. I did NOT need a load resistor of any kind even with all my brake lights replaced with LEDs. I'm not sure if this will be the case with everyone, but for my 04 I get no warning lights on the dash.

Anyway, on to the pics right?

The bulbs... 7443 < click me!

And a 921 for my custom 4th brake light.

Lights on:

Aipex, looking good! I'm excited to see the outdoor dark pictures. They certainly look like they'd be bright enough, and the red from the LEDs somehow seems ... redder than the incandescent bulbs. $50 is pretty steep for 2 lights, but it looks like you get what you pay for.

Do you have any designs on replacing the blinkers with LEDs?

Yeah, the LEDs are pure red while the incandescant bulb is a red/orange. Eventually I'll upgrade the blinkers and reverse bulbs with the same 7 watt 7440 bulbs (in amber and white) from V-LEDS, but $150 so maybe in a few months

Uploading more pics now.

I hear you on that - $150 is a lot of scratch on lights. I might try out these and see if they are bright enough.

At $25 a set, it'd be $75 to do my tails and blinkers, instead of $150. Maybe if I pick up a set in the near future I can post them up so we can get a little comparison.

If all you're doing is looking for 7443 bulbs, you can get those at any auto parts store and probably walmart.

You can go to any auto parts store and get a 7443 for probably $1.99.
