New LEDs. Wow! Bright!

So I bought some 6K 55W H11 bulbs from AutoLumination for my fogs, but when I went to have the Mazda dealer put them in, they strongly recommended against doing so. They explained that the higher resistance in the bulbs would probably result in blown fuses and other such problems. It made sense to me, in a way, but I didn't think that the bulbs would be such an increase in resistance that it would cause so many problems.
Are these guys right that it isn't a good idea to put these bulbs in? Or are they blowing smoke? If these won't work, I'll probably buy the VLED fogs, but they're so expensive that I really would rather not. Thanks in advance.

Very true...another option indeed. Needless to say, you get what you paid for.

The 55W 6000K H11 bulbs. I was gonna have the dealer do it because I don't have any real equipment to use (no jack, etc.) and it would have made my life easier. But I guess I'll try it myself and we'll see how it goes.

There ya go ryne. It's pretty simple - twist and pull, remove the bulb, put in the new one, push and twist.
I will say, it's a pretty tight fit in there for my hands, so it's simple but not always easy.
I found it easier when I looked into the parking lights from the front to aim them on their way back in.

Anyone that has stock HID bulbs and is not interested swapping to 6000Ks... good news!
Just noticed on V-LEDS site that they are now selling two versions of the H11 bulb, a 6000K and now a 5000K (which should be a lot closer to the stock HID color). Anyway, I thought I would pass that along. Here's a link:

Geez, all kinds of new cool stuff over at V-LEDS. This LED license plate frame has a six 3 watt LEDs and is used as an auxillary back up light. This would be great for people that have red out taillights.

^^Nice! I've got one fog burnt out so I need a replacement, but I am reluctant to go with LED cause I do not want to break off my cap inside the fog light and regret it later. Any body have any regrets yet?

Take the cap off...the European version comes with NO CAP. It will ONLY increase your light output.

Or you can always just put the foglights into super yellow JDM mode yo!
^^umm, yellow went out with the diapers in pre-school. but, replacing the HID's might be an option. the prob is, i can't tell if mine are stock or not. my rockets are bluer than my HID's and my fogs match my rockets. so I am thinking they got replaced without hte HID's, but I need someone elses to verify.
If you look a couple posts back I mentioned that they are now selling the foglight bulbs in both 5000K and 6000K. If you have stock HIDs get the 5000K, should match pretty well.
