I installed my VLED brake/taillights over the weekend also. This thread rocks, and I approve it, too... I was gonna take some pics, but my car was too dirty. I'll need to wash my car first.

ive heard that if you change your foglights from HID h11 to HID h9 there is a good amount of increased lumens... is this true, has anyone tried this?

h9 is one of the brightest hids out there, but it would be a negligable difference from the h11s...
the light output from the fogs isnt meant to be the primary source of light anyway, so its not really worth the change

i also did the 6k leds last weekend just like nycdrift... love the look of it, but i need to fix one of my fogs lol.. kinda broke it while trying to put in the right one. super tight fit down there

That's what she said! I'm sorry, I couldn't resist.

I ordered some 6k H11s for my fogs from AutoLumination. I doubt they'll look as good as the VLEDs, but they were about 20% of the cost, so I figured I'd give them a go. I don't anticipate putting them in until the end of the month though, when we're doing my front rotors, but I will make sure to get pictures up when I have them.

I love those V-Star lights, but 70 squids for a pair of light bulbs is insanity I tells ya.

If you are talking about either the LEDs or HIDs there is absolutely no difference. The bulbs are identical, only the base is different. Now, if you are talking about halogen bulbs, then yes, H9's are brighter and you can use them in the foglights with minor modification.

no im talking bout if its possible to convert from our h11 to h9 (both being HID).
the reason is because i was told that h9 is brighter than our h11

Again... yes, halogen H9's are brighter than halogen H11's. BUT, aftermarket HID kits just put the exact same 35 watt bulb on different bases. There is NO DIFFERENCE IN BRIGHTNESS between an aftermarket H9 and H11 kit. They are exactly the same. If you are going to convert your fogs to HID, get the H11 kit. Trust me.

They look HID from the pic you posted. Only the base model has halogen headlights, so if you have foglights and DSC (indicating that you have something above the base model) then you have HIDs. If you have HIDs then you want 6000K D2S bulbs. Here's a link:

Thanks for the help dude, i will double check if its HID with the dealer.
The link you forward to me those bulbs looks alot cheaper than the ones you using, apparently you are using Phillips i went searching and find they were double the price on the ones you suggest me to get.
Should i go with philips or the v-led ones

Thanks again Aipex8 for your help in these matters! My head nearly explode just by reading pages of it!

One more thing tho, v-leds ONLY got white leds for our fog lights?

Fog lights:
http://www.v-leds.com/Shop/Control/P...id/0/SFV/32481
part number: H11_68_W

I would love to have an AMBER / YELLOW version, but it seems that currently the only thing v-leds.com offers is the H11 3000k HID conversion kit?
http://www.v-leds.com/Exterior-HID-F...72590-1-2.html

When can we get an amber H11 LED fog? Or never?

Thanks x 1000!

They offer an amber H7, so it's definitely a possibility. Send them an email and see if they'd be interested in offering an H11 bulb. Personally, if you want yellow you can find many halogen bulbs that look really good and for a lot less money.

The nice 50 dollar white LED reverse lights are out of stock. According to V-leds they won't be available til next month which kinda sucks cuz I want to get that and the sunvisor LEDs replaced asap. Oh well, just gotta be more patient i guess..

Wrong, Not an impressive mod to fix it at all.

With the V-LEDs that Aipex listed here, and LED 3rd brake lights, no resistors needed.

Well for those of us that don't want to drop $40.00 for V-Led's red L.E.D. replacement bulb the resistor route is much cheaper. I got my 7440 replacement bulb off ebay 2 for $13.00 and the resistor for less than $5.00. It's just another option.
