No not that high. Mine stays between 1k-700rpm. It used to idle at 750 now it seems like it trying to find it's idle. It stays level with the ac on but with it off it want to do it's dance. It never did it before FI so I dont know what it is. I ran the car ragged today on a closed circuit with a buddy in his Evo and it saw high revs for about 15 minutes. Redlined it beyond what I have ever done before and it runs really strong with no issues during drive so I know my engine is healthy, I just cant figure out the idle. I'll take a clip of it and try to post it this week. I am starting to think I need plugs/coils since I am on my original ones with 24k on it.

For a couple of weeks my car has been running super lean. It was running rich before, around 10.8 AFR during boost. (stock greddy maf housing) However, after I made a 3.5 x 12 aluminum housing I see high 12's to 13's during boost. MM got right on it and sent me a new calibration that was supposed to richen the AFR during boost. However it didn't fix the problem, and i still see high 12's to 13's during boost. It must be something with my car. Can a worn out air intake filter, or contaminated maf sensor cause this? My intake doesn't sit behind the radiator but instead behind the bumper. I am currently practicing really good throttle control to prevent boost whenever I have to drive the 8. Any input would be great. By the way MM I sent you a couple emails regarding this, just wanted to know if you received it.

I would look into a true CAI that sits behind the intercooler. MM made one that I have. It is similar to the Mazsport intake but with a better maf bung. It should help your AFR's and will not be prone to detonation like the Greddy one. Plus your intake temps will be a few degrees above ambient. Some with the GReddy were seeing 180 degrees on a 90 degree day. My temps never get 5 above ambient. I am running the base turbo map and my afr are solid.

i'm not using the greddy but instead a custom 3.5 intake similar to kane's intake setup if that is still aproblem then i'll see about an aem or mazsport (whichever one i can get my hands on first)

3.5'' ID is the ideal size for proper AFRs. See if MM can make you one that I have. I know for sure it works with the base Cobb map. Are you running the Cobb or a different EMS? I am not a tunning genius but I know what I have been through and what I have learned from a select few on here. Ask Mysql about the Greddy maf. I think he said once to not use due to issues he had. Do you still have the stock MAF sensor? I am running off of that and have no problems.

The intake is 3.5" and transitions to 3" in the bumper. The location of the filter is similar to that of mazsport's cai. Maf sensor is factory.

Any input is greatly appreciated.

How is Kane's car on AFRs? I cant speak for your intake since it is not like mine. Maybe clean the MAF sensor. I think more input from someone that deals with these things on a daily basis and knows other issues. If you can kidnap MM and get him in here to answer then you may have an answer immediately instead of me fishing for answers. My thinking is MAF sensor, intake, or tune is the issue.

My car is spot on in boost; but I am tuning with EMU and my software still; since AP is not tunable by normal folk yet.

Well guys an update! I cleaned the maf sensor and that didn't do anything. Then this morning I decided to take apart my intake and clean the k&n filter. I re-oiled it and installed the intake back together. This time, however I put the intake filter in a better position and also I moved the mesh grill one coupler away from the maf house. When I drove the car I thought the excess oiling of the intake filter was making the car run much richer since I was seeing 10.6-10.8 AFR during boost. Therefore I let the intake filter dry a good 6 hours and I just drove the car. The AFR was 10.8 on the richest calibration I have. I am now running the v0 and the car is around 11.1-12.1 @ boost. Hopefully I got it right now ;p

That's good man. When you get an intake that sits behind the intercooler it should solve all future AFR problems. What are your number when not in boost?

Hey Guys,

I was hoping someone could help me out. I received my AP today, and installed the V_3 04' M/T Turbo map, which my car is. My trim was 0, and has not budged, but when I try and drive the car it runs like crap. It's saying my AFR is 11.5 at idle, and about the same when I life take my foot off the gas pedal when driving. While in Boost, I'm getting readings in the 15's ??? What am I doing wrong here???

Thanks!!!

Matt

The Greddy, but it ran pretty well with the e manage blue, just a few hiccups around 4,500. Do I need to completely take out all of the wiring harness from the Blue? At the moment, I have just unplugged it. Also, do I need a boost controller with the AP? Sorry...Just got the turbo, and as you can tell I'm a NUB.

Thanks!

Also, I still have the MS CAI, the OLD K&N, and my Stock..if there anyway to modify any of these to work?

It's been established the greddy intake works like crap with the ap. You dont' really want to use that intake anyways, You want a good 3.5 intake that is screened before the maf. Refer to Grouch's DIY CAI, or youc an just use your aem intake. (That's what mysql is using) Also, the e manage blue could careless about the maf readings.

I pulled the wiring harness from the blue out of the mix, and it fixed everything! Run's like a champ now I'm pushing 7 psi now though...Should I be worried with stock injectors???

Thanks guys!

Well I had the Emanage Blue Still wired because I didn't want to pull all the wiring if I had any issue with the AP, but it was COMPLETELY Unplugged and out of my glove box. I'm not sure what was going on, but whatever it was it was messing everything up. Now that I pulled the wiring harness, everything is working flawlessly and it feels like it came that way from the factory. I'm getting 11.5 at WOT in 4th gear.

My only question is should I be reading 0% at idle on the STFT, or 0% at WOT? I was getting -10-14 % at idle with the V3 map, so I went to 5b, and now it's 0 during WOT, but +10-12 at idle, and it idles much worse...?

Thanks again guys!

MD
