Ducking the Witch

One 'foolproof' way to establish whether a suspect was a witch was ducking. With right thumb bound to left toe, the accused was plunged into a convenient pond. If he or she floated it proved an association with the black arts, with the body rejecting the baptismal water. If the victim drowned they (sic) were innocent. Given the curious position of the prisoner, it was more likely they would float (Farrington 58).

Strange...I always thought that was called "dunking"...

Guess now I know what to say to my victims the next time around...I'll even have a funny story to tell them...facts are always entertaining...haa

Funny story...a product I developed had a development tag called "NewT" which is short for my "New Technology" branch of development...

How it got branded as a "NewT" is beyond me...but hilarious to hear it pronounced "New Tee"...people are so amusing...

Yes, I know.

That is the next line in the movie by Sir Bedevere. But, you were supposed to come back with, "I got better". Then I shout, "Burn him anyway!"

I still cringe when I watch "Shaun of the Dead" and Simon Pegg turns to Nick frost when they spy the zombie cashier in the yard and says "She's drunk!".
He sounds so unnatural saying "drunk" and he admits in the commentary that they changed "pissed" to "drunk" because they thought American audiences wouldn't get the joke otherwise.

I've learned that this car is like a wife. No matter what other hot new things may come your way, its not worth it in the long run. Cheaper to keep her.
