Why are you calling out Kev and I only
Plenty of knowledgeable people here on this forum.

Were the plugs just black and looked like oil or did it have an oil texture and smell?
When was the last time they were changed out?
Could just simply be old plugs that were due for a change.

when did you pull the plugs? After a decarb or just because you were changing them? Does he change his oil at 3k intervals? Regular stock plugs? All plug covered or one specific one? Mileage etc. Coils & wires condition/age? AT, MT?

answer those and i should be able to help, i think those questions should cover everything.

kevin.

Cuz you guys are cool. Some people are ********

It was the top plugs and they smelled. Had oil texture on them like you dipped them in oil.

Yes, I have noticed that you do follow up on requests, and I appreciate this as it sometimes can take time to collate..

Most members here are really good, unfortunately it appears there are less of them interested in this forum as it is very quite, particularly the last few years.

I appreciate the fact that you come on here to give us the facts from Mazda's side even though you don't own an RX8.
Don't let a few bad apples prevent you from coming on here and sharing more of your experience and knowledge.

yea i prefer the high road I just present facts, i try to make it so each person finds the problem rather then just say "its blablabla, replace it" cause thats not diagnosis that is dart tossing. Apparently that makes me come off arrogant? woops my bad.

Wink

Thanks all for your contribution to this thread.
I still have a few questions thought most of them were already 'mentionned' in this thread.

I'm planning on doing a SeaFoam cleaning tomorrow.

1- I need to buy the hoses from a local store. What hose's diameter I should be looking for (to fit the LIT nipple)

2- How can I suck in 2oz of fresh 2 stroke oil if I need to rebuild everything first (put back in place the nipples black covers) and start the engine?
Should I, instead, after injecting seafoam through the vac. line, do the same thing with a cup of fresh oil THEN rebuild everything and turn the engine on?

3- I need to change my oil as well. Should I do it while the car is sitting for an hour or after I turn it on and drive around for 30m?

3.1- The last time I changed my oil I noticed the fresh oil was already kind of dirty/black because I've waited too long to do my oil change (maybe 20,000KM). I was told to try to clean it with some kind of product the next time I change it.
Will Seafoam do the job if poored in engine oil directly?

4- I understand that pooring seafoam through the 2 nipples is the way to go. What about adding half a can in the fuel tank and some in the oil as well?

Thanks for the clarification (I simply want to make sure I get this right!)

To suck the oil in, simply do not replace the caps on the nipples yet. Just stick a hose to the nipples and stick it in a cup of oil.

I don't think the oil change will have any effect on the cleaning procedure.

No clue about adding it to the gas, but my instincts say no. Just stick with something designed to go in fuel. FP+ perhaps.

I just want to make sure I am getting this right:

I will be using the SeaFoam method and will be using the "nipples" to suck it into the engine as per the OP's instructions (except not using the Zoom-Zoom cleaner)

1. Am I correct in that I still do only one inlet at a time with two 10 second cranks per "nipple"?

2. Tubing: Should I use a tube small enough to actually go inside the nipple or should I use a tube that fits snuggly around it? If the latter, what size would you guys recommend for the tubing?

3. After I crank it back up, should I then have the tubing suck oil into the engine from a cup for just one or both inlets?

thanks a lot for any help.

1. Yep, same thing

2. doesnt matter, fits snuggly around it is fine.

3. both, cuz 1 nipple = 1 rotor, if you have premix in your gas, this part is not really needed IMO, premix it more heavily before you do it, 16 oz for the tank is good enough.

I would highly recommend the hose fit snugly around it that ensures a better seal, and you don't have to worry about the vaccum pressure sucking in some of the line.

Buy a vacuum line 2' in length to get the diameter of the hose you can take off the nipple and bring it into a pep boys or auto zone and match up the nipple to the tubing (it doesnt need to be a super tight fit).

if you get lost or feel that you are messing something up get back on the forum and search.. I wrote up a set of directions as well as some other people, follow it step by step and you should be good.
