Quick addition for the Swift Springs. They are progressive in the rear from 90-129 lbs/in. From their website spec. sheet.

This thread is great and is a big help to a RX8 noob like me. It is sort of burried, tho... Actually was only able to find it linked off another thread. Vote to make this sticky?

not so true.
his intent was really to show what springs look like on what shocks. but other then that, no real info. This thread has prices, links, drop info, spring rate info... etc.

although his thread is a good one. (I even gave him pictures of my car for it.... in fact I even have a link to his thread on the first post in this thread), I do argue that his thread does not have more information then this on.... just different.

:-)

Thanks for this info, I was able to update my spring database with a bunch of new ones and to fill in some info that I didn't have.

were you guy ever able to test out another set of MS springs? (I know that discussion is way old)

What about shocks fittings

This is a pretty awesome list & is very helpful in giving some direction. So what about the shocks pairing with springs?

For starters, please forgive my ignorance. I'm trying to gather info independently but am a bit stumped. I've spent a lot of time browsing & searching this site & am having a hard time making sense of everything. I recently discovered that the shocks apparently help in supporting the vehicle & have a big impact on the ride hieght & should be matched to the spring height. (see my thread here if interested: https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-wheels-tires-brakes-suspension-55/does-anyone-elses-stock-rx8-bottom-out-rear-mildest-speed-bumbs-211486/)

I recently purchased these springs because I wanted the extra firmness & the drop: Tein S-Tech: 207/145 - Drop = 1.4"/0.7"

Then I purchased Bilstein HD's because they seem to have a good name & they were cheap. Just after making the online purchase, I stumbled upon a thread explaining that the HD's are only for stock height springs. Soo... what shocks should I be looking at for the drop of these Tein's? Is there a list or a general rule of thumb I should go by?

There are dozens of pics of cars on s-techs here.... search. Also what are you worried about rubbing? The "shocks" will not rub with any spring I have ever herd of so no worries.

It depends on your wheel and tire set up however chances are high you will be fine. Look up the "will it fit" thread for better info. We try and keep this thread focused on springs.
