Anyone close to me have an '09 or '10 Rx8? I'd like to look at it to see if we want to make a shifter for the new trans.

You guys who have orders in right now I'm going to get them out this week. Had a stall on the lathe making the pivot baskets. Should be up and running Tuesday.

I didn't say I was going to make them, I just want to look at one. I have an '09 shifter here but not a car. I don't have alot of confidence in Mazda pushing very many 8's out the door. They don't even advertise them.
The new ones are completly different then the old one and it requires a bunch of little parts. I have a design in my head but not sure it will have a market so I get payed back for all the engineering and tooling.
There have not been alot of requests from new owners.

Thumbs up

Yeah that is what I figured, that the market wouldn't be big enough where it would be profitable for you to make it. Also it might not feel the same as the current one you have out now, which I sleep with at night.

The 09+ market is growing surely but slowly. I assure you that I would purchase an 09 SS day 1, as Im sure many other 09+ owners would too.

I wish I was a bit closer to you, I would let you take a look at mine. I would also buy a SS if you came out with it and it was comparable to the one AJ loves so dearly.

I just bought one of these used, and it does not have the white (Teflon or nylon?) ring around the shaft for the upper shift boot to be put around. Is this something you have deleted from the shifters, or can I order a replacement from you?

Just took my first drive with the shifter installed, and I understand why so many people are in love with it. Amazing difference from stock. I only hope the short shifter I bought for my first gen RX-7 is as good.

Someone called the other day about these parts, not sure if it was you. Parts are available from stock.

Received my white ring yesterday (thanks). I noticed one side is beveled more than the other. Does the orientation of the beveled side of the ring matter? Looking at the various pictures I cannot determine the answer.

That's because it only goes on one way.

Just put this in, only took about 20 minutes. Defiantly a quality product, although unless you know how to appreciate the purpose of this part and understand how it changes the cars driving characteristics you might not be as happy as some of the people on this forum. In my case, I am happy with the price, quality, and new feel of the car (shorter shift but not too short). I have driven some cars with short shifter that were way too short on the street, this is not the case with this product.
