They have applied for CARB on the intake. I bet they applied for the header too!

Turbo XS mates with stock headers so why would the RB need to be 3 inch. If they made it 3 inch nothing would connect to it unless it was custom.

mm, good point.

and the entire thing is a full 3 inches. i dont have the midpipe, but the catback is definitely 3" and it mates to the stock cat. the flanges must be extra large on the stock pieces or something.

sounds good, but it takes a while to get CARB approved.

1 gajillion HP to the crank!!
Translated to RX-8 terms, that equals roughly.....2 hp.

No performance figures have officially been released and even when / if they are, keep in mind that RB is always very conservative on their hp claims.

Eric Meyer (Koni Challenge and Nasa RX-8 racer) has also worked with a shop that has a header available that adds about 15 hp (dyno proven). However, I believe it does require an air pump delete, and it is not cheap - I think it is 900 bucks.

I'm not sure how much hp Team's has gained, but knowing him he wouldn't have done it if it wasn't worth it.

Anyway, just so you know you do have other options besides RB to get headers from.

The problem with the present headers available is that they are made to hook up to the oem cat at it's present location. People haven't started to think outside of the box yet.

I thought outside the box years ago and no one has tried them. I don't have a Renesis so I have a good excuse not to. It's all hypothesis until proven of course but there have been those who have said they can't work although they've never tried them. Everyone keeps repeating the same thing and stamping a new name on it and people keep thinking it's got to be different because of it. As long as everyone treats all 3 exhaust ports the same, none of them will have any more benefit than any other. I don't care if it's short, long, log or otherwise. The center port is special and needs to be treated as such before anyone gets anything more than a few more horsepower out of it.

RG, yes, I know. And I supported them. I have a car, but I don't have tubing, a bender or a welder & associated skills.
