Racing Beat Header Update

Had an Email from Jim M today. Prototype was all complete today the Flange is CAST stainless.

aside: I remember just 5 years ago when people were telling me you couldnt cast stainless. a year later i was holding a cast stainless burner. now its everywhere.

now hes got to make the disassembled pieces for the bender and cutting jigs and then production can start.

I was at RB a few months ago picking up my gauge pod and Jim mentioned it would be ready 'soon'. Sounds like they tried SEVERAL different variations of the headers and wanted to do some more testing before releasing.

The price I heard while I was there sounded REALLY good. Stay tuned guys...

Your question was forwarded to Jim Mederer, Racing Beat's co-founder and chief engineer, for review. The following is his reply to your inquiry:

As I write this, I am working on the final prototype of our stainless RX8 header. The cast stainless flange is complete (and looks great). I hope to have this prototype finished today. I must also make a set of "disassembled" pipes for the tube bender and cutting jig maker. Sadly, this will take time - probably another 6 to 8 weeks. As for power increase, I cannot expect more than the 4+/- hp we have seen in the past, though we will test the final result to verify. Sound increase should be slight.

I don't want to get everyone's hopes up in case Jim had to change the price. Lets just say, this will be on my car VERY soon.

Don't you need a carb certification for this?

Razz: don't you need a Carb certification for that Racing Beat intake you got on your car?

Razz, you have the rb intake, and this is what it says:
*Legal in California only for racing vehicles, which may never be used upon a highway.
it'll most likely say the same thing for the header.

other companies often put, "off road use only"
