I believe their website also said they are making sure that it meets emissions regulations. I'm sure that takes longer than if you weren't worrying about that.

Well, we should all care about Emission, cuz its better for all of us.

but the emission law nowdays has turned into some kind of political stuff. and most people who made emission law these days has ZERO CLUE of what is possible and what is ridiculous.

hell my first car was 1 '85 civic 325K miles, HUGE hole in the pipe just after the manifold, and it burned almost more oil than gas....

I was at Racing Beat yesterday getting flashed (the car not me) and they were telling me these things are ready to go and will be on sale next month. Pricing hasn't been decided but they think it'll be in the $300-400 range. YMMV.

I hope they are offering it in a ceramic coating. Not sure $300-400 would cover ceramic coating which is usually about $100-$150 for headers. Worth every penny if it is high quality.

$100 should be more than enough. I've been ceramic coating a bunch of stuff and it really isn't very expensive. You just run into cost when one shop outsources it to a real shop that does the coating, so you end up paying twice for the job.

If you know anything about how the CARB works and the steps to getting a part approved you will understand why, short version is that it cost to much money.

However. Its not likely that you will ever run into a problem running a header because the cops wont even notice you have a header, its hard to see. If they do see it you just tell them that headers came stock just like some of the civic SI's or the old mustang 5.0's. If you have to get a smog check they usually only care if it passes emission, if they question it, just give them the same line.

rest assured that Racing Beat made an attempt to make the headers hard to pick out to non-experts (cops). That's how they do all their exhaust stuff.

I'm in for a header at sevenstock. I'll probably use it as an excuse to finally put an aftermarket setup on my car. RP supercat. and REV8.
