I called yesterday about getting this done.
They suggested having the latest flash before you go.
Also, yesterday when I called they said they weren't taking orders yet, because there were rumors of a new flash from Mazda, and they wanted to wait for that to come out, or for the rumor to be dispelled.
Today, I called to ask a question, and I was told that they are taking orders now. (Different person on the phone today.)

I was just saying what does it matter if you have the latest tune if they are going to overwrite it with their one tune fits all file.
Sometimes when updating code, things in the program get moved around, like where calibrations are stored. Usually when this happens, version 3 knows how to move all the stuff around to the right place from version 2, but version 4 may not know how to move. Even worse, this only works if version 3 actually runs on the ECU, and if you just drop version 4 on there, it gets all hosed up.
I wonder if RB is worried about stuff like this and thus wants you to already be running the latest version before they mess with it, instead of just bumping you from "D" to "S" in one shot and risking some problems.
Just a possibility. Also equally possible is that the person answering the phone doesn't have a clue.

I've seen reference to 15-20hp gains.
Racing Beats website says 7.8hp and the dyno chart shows the same.
Where are people getting the 15-20 number from?

From the dyno they posted? Looks like a peak gain of a solid 10hp; problem is they posted a fairly small resolution dyno plot.

So RB says they got 225 WHP with their flash, intake and exhaust. Based on their dyno graph, it looks like their base car had around 210 whp so should be expect 15 whp if doing all three or 225 whp?
I just relized something---where the hell is the 238 that mazda advertise's! This is an engine dyno so Mazda where is it? RB didn't even get it with their mods!

Heck the other features of this flash is worth the money.
Old news I know.
