Hey all, I tried registering on GA RX8 club a couple weeks ago. Just bought a dead $1200 RX8 and spent the weekend doing coils, packs and wires, deflooding and a couple other minor stuff. I have a running Velocity Red RX8 that I got for $1200 delivered to my door!

Hope I can join up in your community. I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions!!

 

Wow, what a deal. Nice buy! Did your seller find out it was only a flooded engine?

 

I never told him (shh), but he was an old man who didn't want to deal with the upkeep of the car anymore. Bought it for his daughter to go to college, and she stopped paying the insurance on it, so he took it back under his name. Flooded it, took it to some garbage mechanic who told him the 'compression' was 20%. I deflooded it, put some coils plugs and packs in it, and she started up and purred like a kitten idling ~800rpm. Stellar car, and the engine definitely has some life left in her!!

And, it was red! What's more cool than a red RX8! I've even had a friend at work who has an RX8 offer to trade me the red-inlay leather seats for my purely black leather seats. Overall, I've had a lot of success with the car, haha

Just moved into the Augusta Area and registered on GARX8Club. I am thinking about going to the Import Alliance Spring event, but I really need to find a good paint shop in the area first. Anyone have any suggestions?

 

Rogue, you caught me online and I just activated you. We have members in the Augusta area that should be able to help you. You may want to PM Kurtbob when you get there but do post in an intro thread. You should get good response.

 

I'm currently living in North Georgia (7 minutes away from Chattanooga, TN area), but I am moving to the downtown Atlanta area for school in August. I just registered for GARX8CLUB. I'm hoping there are more members in Atlanta than what I've seen in my current area! 2005 Sunlight Silver owner for almost 4 years now!

Guess I need to keep saying this occasionally just so everyone knows we are alive and functioning well over at GARX8Club.com. We just have to manually "accept" each new user. There are probably 20+ hacks to a legit user to register and the only way we can be certain is to accept you when you pop up here.
