Fast driving in the dry is a skill, fast driving in the rain is an art.
And no, i'm serious, i distinctly remember hitting 138 mph. Memory could be off, or speedo could be off for sure haha, but that's what i remember from about 4 years ago. Come out of the last turn already over 85mph at the very top of 3rd gear. And with good tires and brake pads (pirelli's and hawks) I was braking VERY late, and that's what i remember seeing on the speedo.
either way, have fun guys...

Your car is either really fast or you are Vin Diesel or your memory is way off. 138mph in a RX-8 requires 5th gear and a lot of straightaways. I don't think you are getting that at Shenandoah, even Summit Main seems impossible.
Im all packed up, seafoamed, extra premix and oil, wax and detailing stuff, tape for numbers, jack, toolbox, helmet, gopro, and 9x9 tent.
Aaaawwwwwwwwww yyyyyyeeeeeaaaaaaaaa 10hrs left until tech inspection!

128 on the "Shen"? That's Viper and Z06 territory, and I don't want to be the corner worker down there.
Awesome videos Francesco. I can't believe the flames that our cars were shooting. I got a few good videos that Striker took passing by on the front straight. I'll get the pictures up as well. I got some good ones. Overall the event went well. The weather held out for us and everyone had a good time. Bill was a great instructor and helped me out throughout the day. I passed a Nissan GTR on my third session.
Dude i got point by's from that GTR in 3 of 4 sessions, at the end of the fourth session you can ear me and my instructor yelling over the checkered flag coming out as i finally got to the GTR.
In the 3rd session you were right behind me through the fight for open track space. I knew you were dying to get some open track as well. I'm glad I gave you the point by because those flames were awesome. But god damnit I want to see mine! I've been told they can be holding a constant flame for ~2 seconds on down shifts.

Little Bend (18) to Big Bend (19); the small lake right at track out / turn in to Big Bend.
Exit of The Loop (20) had a lot of red silt on it; combined with the polished track surface, it was quite treacherous in wet conditions. Wankelbolt refers to this as "M3 Corner".
Range Straight (exiting 9) was the section that cost me a few heart palpitations. Between the standing puddles, surface undulations and car dynamics, putting the power down could provoke a "tank-slapper" faster than any other part of The Shen.
