Last seats I had were 17lbs and with brackets were over 25. I would rather be under and have to add weight than be over. And to your original comment, I'm not paying that for a pair of seats.
And carbon fiber is fastar.

^Look into the mounting. One of the advantages (for me) of an aftermarket seat was a lower seating position. Of course, this does depend on your height, but at 6', I was glad to drop down a few inches (from my non-power OEM seats) with the Bride solution. The brackets on those seat look pretty typical, and I'm going to guess that they may actually result in a higher seating position, not lower. The vendor should know, and if they don't, I'd look elsewhere.

Of course, you have to think about fit as well.

Factory ride height is fine for me. Only5'9" and I have no sunroof. I'm afraid if I go lower it will mess up the distance to the pedals and distance to steering wheel. Telescoping steering wheel would be nice.
Making custom brackets so I should be ok.

The problem with the midpipe has nothing to do with installing it, it's with getting it created in the first place. I'm really torn on whether or not to wait for BHR's cat'ed pipe... I think if they don't make an announcement with an ETA by the middle of next month, I'm going to go buy the components and pay Brad to fab it up.

Oh, doesn't stop me from running at all. I still plan to I just won't have the cat + new tune yet.

BHR is planning on using the Davesport cat and like I said, if they don't make an announcement soon I'll go that route (though more likely the straight 3" pipe Rx7store sells + Davesport + vibrant resonator off amazon).

If you make your own midpipe, put the resonator before the cat, like I did. It (probably) extends the cat life, and it also cuts down on interior noise when the windows are up. I know it sounds odd, but my Davesport + Racing Beat resonator setup I showed earlier in this thread is quieter than the OEM setup with the windows up, although it's louder with the windows down (and for anybody who happens to be in the vicinity, LOL).

^Although it is possible that location has nothing to do with it - it just may be that the RB resonator, exhast pipe, and/or Davesport cat don't give off as much localized vibration under the car. 'Spose that could be the case.

Sounds reasonable, so I'll see what I can do. I got my Cat-back on this weekend and it's pretty loud... I might try and cut another resonator into the pipe between the muffler and the midpipe.

Anijo, if you do request a clarification you could include the attached pic with your e-mail (for illustration).

That's what I thought. If "cat location" is interpreted as the actual cat within the pipe, then I'm fine. And, if it is interpreted as the complete pipe, then I am obviously OK.

In terms of locating your resonator in the OEM location, note that I could not fit the "medium" RB resonator there; hence one of the reasons we went with the arrangement above. Not sure how the dimensions of your unit comapre to the RB unit; you might look at their web page and find out.

What size tires?

I need to purchase a set myself yet, but I have a bit more time considering its still 20 degrees in Ohio and the first event isn't until late April.

^That's probably the way I'm going to go. Maybe Hankook, but it's hard to ignore Jason's testing.

The first pair of my SSR Type Cs, 18x9, arrived today. Very light, very pretty.

And George, The Dunlops work better in the rain, and this past season we had a few too many events in the rain, so that helped sway my decision towards them.

^Yes true. But since we are distributing tire costs over 3 drivers, we may be able afford some full-depth R1-Rs on the 17s.

Nice TopGear! what's your rim width?

I have a set of kumho Ecsta XS 245/40/18s on stock rims and in the wet they are like driving on ice, so I'm looking forward to seeing how the Star specs work out for you..

I'm waiting for the new Enkei PF1s to come out

These things are Wide! The pictures are not that great(taken with my Droid) But in person the Star Specs are wider than the NT05's.

Comparing width of mounted to unmounted tires is like comparing apples to ipads.
