Last time I got this much (highway) miles in a 13.5 gal fill up was in Christmas of 2012. I may be able to get it close to 290 miles in the last gallon or two.

I haven't tried to figure out how much I get.
I'm not sure I want to know. I drive it like a fool, & if I know it might alter my m.o.

On a related note, why does gas go up 15 cents overnight, but goes down a penny at a time?
Must have gone up 45 cents in the last month.

Because oil companies suck lol

I'm lucky to get 250 miles/tank on the highway going 70-80. 190-200 miles/tank city

Wiped the car down with some detailer spray, can't drive it 5miles without it getting all dusty. Ordered a Mazdaspeed Flywheel, which the guy on the phone with me from the Rosenthal Mazda parts said was the last one available, lucky me.

I'm not too far from you when I drive it in the city. I get about 225-230 miles with a full tank, and that's driving 15 more after the low fuel indicator light turns on. I am surprised that I got 266 miles when I averaged speeds between 75-88 mph and the freeway had a lot of 8-15° inclines an 8th of a mile long, at least.

Thats been my average for 2 years... LOL It's all in how (and where) you drive sometimes.

If you really worried go do a hwy run, Earlier this month I went out to Mississippi and got 21mpg with the a/c on, and I have low compression.

Yeah I will at some point. I have low compression as well...how low is yours? I'm not to the point of having starting issues yet, but when it was tested 15k ago I was in the mid 7s all around, my starter is the upgraded one, but it seems a bit slower than the other 8s with upgraded starters around here. I've been pre-mixing to try and slow the compression loss advancement down though. It doesn't take any longer to start now, but it does vibrate a bit more at idle. Unless I'm below 1/4 of a tank, in all seriousness, just look at my other thread

Yeah I'm about there, almost all city driving with hardly any A/C I get ~15 with moderate driving, normally shifting 4-5k, some 6k shifts and a few redlines to mix things up

LIVING UN THE SOUTH OF IRELAND FOR ROAD TAXATION PURPOSES THE GOVERNMENT , FOR SOME REASON OR ANOTHER CLASS THE RX 8 AS 1744CC , THIS MAKES NEARLY A 100% CHANGE IN THE ROAD TAX YOU PAY . I DO NOT KNOW HOW IT IS IN THE GOOD OLD US OF A BUT A POST THAT I CAN PRINT OFF DECLARING THE TRUE CAPACITY , WHICH I BELIEVE TO BE 1308CC WOULD BE A GREAT HELP PROVIDING EVIDENCE THAT I CAN SHOW TO THE VEHICLE TAXATION OFFICE . THANKS .

You can download the owners manual from mazdausa.com. That should have the capacities that you need. You may also find something interesting at this link: foxed.ca/index.php?page=rx7manual#rx8

BTW, posting in all caps on the internet is considered shouting and to be bad manners. Please refrain from doing this in the future.

I thought we had a filter that prevented all caps ... ah, WE DO

I discovered a subtle oil leak today... either just starting on my year old BNR rebuild or from my recently installed SOHN. Hopefully it's from the SOHN. Seems every time I do ANYTHING with this car's oiling system I end up a leak that takes a month or two to resolve.

Parked my 8 under my deck and put my car cover on it as we are in the early stages of a tornado outbreak in Kansas City.
Gonna be a long night.
