Hmm, I've never gotten a ticket in 40 years of driving. I don't drive like an old lady (ask my wife), but I pick my spots. The rest of the time I drive at the speed limit plus 5 or 10, or at least make sure I'm the second fastest car on the road (aka follow the rabbit).

Now, watch...I'll get a ticket tomorrow

 

Sat and admired it over a cup of hot coffee. Cant drive it at the moment due to surgery on my spine so looking at it was the next best thing

 

haha, seems whenever I speed there's no cops around, whenever I don't speed there *are* cops around. I guess I'm lucky! Happened twice tonight!

 

Well, there was a time that I sped next to a CHP. He shined those flood lights as I passed him at 80(70 was the posted speed limit). I didn't realize what he was doing until I made an exit off the freeway. Instinctively, I hid and parked in the first dark alley I found and saw him pass in front of me. Besides that, I was pulled over once for giving way to someone entering a freeway, CHP thought I was drunk, surprisingly he corrected himself (which is very rare) and let me off.

 

well - seeing as we are on that subject ... A couple of months back I overtook a plain clothes police car then proceeded to redline it in 3rd and 4th . Wonder how fast that was ?
Anyway -as he had no way of measuring my speed i got let off with a "slow down" . Biggest let off i've ever had in 30+yrs of driving !

 

Oh god. LOL.

 

I've never been pulled over in my 8. I guess I'm just the luckiest man in the world. lol

 

Since everyone is talking about getting pulled over...

I haven't been pulled over in my eight. Now in my Honda I get pulled over all the time, maybe it's just because I'm Mexican.

 

lol, my hispanic friend that was with me in the car when I got let go, kept insisting that it was because I'm white. I avoided driving much today, and just washed and waxed the car. I get to DD tonight, but I get to use friends cars for that. So car will be safe from drunken idiots. Monday Im getting new brake pads and front tires. some Hankooks to match my rears.

Cleaned my ESS! I think, maybe, lol. I can't get under my car, so I reached down through all the belts and thingies from above and pulled a cloth between the gap, then an emory board. So it's cleanER at least Thanks to people for posting pictures of it, I could find it by feel because of them.

Washed car and polished up yellowing headlights too

Topped off oil to full.

 

Replaced leaking reverse switch and wired in some gauges. Topped off the trans.

 

Drove my RX-8 along the Pacific Coast Highway.

 

fatmatted the trunk to help silence the exhaust a bit, and black vinyl'd the silver console trim.

 

Did it work?

 

left work early and gave my 8 a wash and wax

 

Washed, Clay bar'd, polished, and waxed. Car's paint is SO smooth!

 

Cant do anything today besides look at it from my office. It's at the mechanic's right across the street. It needs to be washed so bad!

Installed Sirius, Bluetooth and iPod via Grom in place of my OEM iPod adaptor.

Changed the ignition coils. The originals were in good shape except for L1.

 

Cheers for that it took me 3days to complete from start to finish

 

Put some new rubbers on. I'll give the Potenza RE050A RFT a chance. Never tried Bridgestones before.
