40,000 miles, new tires & alignment, drives better than new.
Most reliable and trouble-free car I've had... so far.

Have had it for 3 years, now just over 16k. Only trouble was a recurrent CEL that dealer at first thought was just the gas cap. Later they figured it was the evap leak detection pump. It was replaced and the CEL has not come back. Car's been running fine all throughout.

Had my R3 for 11 months at 4500k and hit a freaking dear today driving up at my local twisty road. (Hwy 2) Deer was okay, but left two small dings on top of my roof! Luckily that's the only damage done to my once mint Rx8 considering i was doing about 60mph and slowed down maybe to 25mph when i hit the deer.

09 R3 with 45k on it. Bought it at 39 about 6 months ago. Got new filter, plugs, coils, and wires in it once I bought it, tires had just been replaced. Done two oil changes, and the thing runs like a champ

Thanks for posting guys. It seems we have some with some decent mileage and as far as I know only a couple of reported S2 engine failures and both of the ones I have read up on, seem like flukes.

That was 01/11/2010 and now I am at just under 35k miles. Still no problems with it other than my visor popped apart and had to be replaced.

Well I haven't had it for most of its life, picked it up with 47k on the clock. The previous owner took good care of it with meticulous oil changes every 5k miles it seems. Not sure on the spark plugs but I ordered the BHR ignition kit so I'll be doing that shortly anyway (is it weird to email the previous owner and ask? I found his email via google heh). He also replaced the tires with 225/40/19 bridgestone RE-11's which was nice.

Anyway it's been great so far, on my first road trip with it (550 miles) it averaged 23mpg which I thought was pretty good. Went to my first track day with it a few days ago and it performed very well.

Cool, it's always nice to talk to the previous owner and find out the real deal. The BHR kit is a smart move, I have had mine for a few years.
