2010 Sport - 6 Speed with 7300 miles on it. I just got it on Monday.
Expecting around 16-17 city but I only got 17mpg (using 91 Octane) on Interstate with Cruise set at pretty well 75-80 all the way. I wanted to see what I could get on highway. That seemed very low. I am a smooth driver and can usually beat the book figures. Got 18mpg on the return on normal highway roads using 93 octane.
Anyone else think this is low for highway driving?
Love driving it though!!

That's 81,000 Miles mate???, if so, I think you have the highest mileage Series 2.
Good to see it is going OK...this is how all RX-8 should have been made.
It REALLY makes me mad how known problematic reliability issues were overlooked with Series 1.

2009 GT. 26k miles. Just recently replaced 1 bad coil which was causing the car to misfire. Just got back the car after 7 days at the dealer. Details in my other post:

Bit over 55k miles on my 09 R3 now =)
Edit: Guess I'll add some other details.
Installed BHR ignition kit with new plugs at around 53k miles. Old plugs were pretty bad (previous owner must not have replaced them since buying the car). Cat is in perfect condition (I know this because I looked after I put on a different midpipe at around 53k miles as well). Oil gets topped up by 1 qt like clockwork every 1k miles, oil changed every 4-5k miles. At the track I premix a bit, car performs beautifully.

'09 R3 just rolled over 30k.
Oil Consumption: I would say about a quart a month or every 1000-1200 miles
Oil Used: Castrol GTX, 5W20 in the winter, 5W30 in the summer, changed every 3k miles
Gas: Alternate between Chevron and Shell every couple months
MPG: ~15mpg-19mpg mostly city driving
Driving habits: 4-5 redlines a week, 3-4 HPDE's a year, drive like a bat-out-of-hell
Issues I've had (all minor):
- clutch pedal popping noise (replaced under warranty)
- broken driver side window actuator (replaced under warranty)
- leaky gas cap causing a CEL (replaced under warranty)
- rattling Bose speaker on driver side door (replaced under warranty)
Just had a compression test done during my 30k service (repost from What did you do... thread)
Rotor 1: 10, 9.9, 10 @ 330 RPM
Rotor 2: 9.7, 9.8, 9.7 @ 328 RPM

Zero Counter Steer
17k, 2011 r3, 5w-20 dino changed at 3500-4.5k (proper "level car" oil drain). No problems. Just doing basic maintenance. Had diff chatter and changed the diff & tranny fluid. Got MAF cleaner and cleaned the MAF (Big, big, big, difference). That's it.

This has been the same usage since day one.
The OEM battery just died yesterday. Shorted cell.
Mazda warranted it 25/75 plus paid for labor. After all
was said and done they paid half the bill for a new Mazda OEM battery.

MAF Cleaner ? Whats it called ? You mentioned cleaning it made a big difference. What were your symptoms that led you to do this ?
Curious as Ive been thinking of doing. Look forward to reply
