This makes three threads, but like I said, it's all good.

Yes, this was always the case. The 'breather mod' is the only way to fully rectify this condensation issue. btw: ithis condensation is not a big deal and you need not have this one performed.

Now back to the current TSB's .....

It also looks like some of theses TSBS are getting you free coils, and sparks from the stealership. The MSP16 flash mentions that its for engine problems that occur in high ambient, do you think Canadians will also be gettin the same flash?

Can't say mine is experiencing any of this although I'd prefer an idle of about 1,000RPM instead of 750 as it's smoother. so if you have no problems no need to go in for the flash right?

I need a TSB to come out on my sand in a blender(heater core) issue.

Anyone who's buying the AccessPort from Jeff gets the new flash, and his modifications go even further than Mazda does for lubrication.

So that's one route if you're out of warranty, plus you get a reflasher

Does the '16' in the MSP16 means "If all else fails, replace engine with 16x?"

Can anyone bring it in despite not having such problems? Just for the sake of it?
If it's just an engine cleaning procedure, I might go at it towards the end of my warranty period.

Just the reflash...the service guy I talked to over the phone didn't seem to picky about providing the TSB servicing without an elaborate explanation of experienced problems.

That is only *partial* true.

Mazda's has a "REALLY REALLY" bad name in their Remans, lets look at Rx-7 for example, wow I mean really, some parts are *Completely* the other way around, seals inserted in another way, etc. I was like what the hell ? Were those ppl who rebuild them blind or something ?

Mazda outsource their engine rebuilding just like most Auto companies. but come on ... they should have a Tighter QA control.

Early Renesis reman came from Mazda Japan, those are "ok" tho.

As far as this new PCM flash, you'd have to ask your dealer. At the least you've probably got the older "voluntary emission recall" flash if the former owner kept up with such recalls.
Sushi, you might want to give MNAO a call and tell them to email you a copy of your car's history. Check and see if the 420f has been done.

Notice tho : On the 420f recall, MOST Dealerships were FUXKING LAZY, and never follow what Mazda suggested, they just reflash the PCM, the car seems to be fine, then call it a day. Thats why a lot of owners have problem with their cars and wonder wtf is going on. Cuz the car has a problem b4 The reflash, its just those lazy *** never follow the instructions set by Mazda.

Because the service manager position must make sure Mazda and the dealership are not having their resources wasted?

But the *true* reason is that :

The Service manager must make sure that they *perform* services with the HIGHEST profit first b4 anything else ... more rip off = bigger year end bonus ... Say, perform an oil change for 30 bux, tells customer that their oil is special Mazda kind and will help the engine best, when its using nothing more than Garbage 1 dollar a quart Motorcraft Synthetic blend 5w-20 ... Brake job charge 200 bux ...

If they just perform all Mazda warranty services it means = no money

This just confirms what I have been saying for some time - that the carbon buildup in this engine is just as much of an issue to deal with as the lack of OMP oil for causing excess wear and eventual low compression.

This excess carbon not only gums up and causes your rotor seals to stick, it also will increase seal wear as it acts like sand in there grinding away with every revolution.

We need to keep these engines as clean as we can by adding a Lubricious Cleaner to every tank (with or without premix)! Then this procedure will not not become needed.

errr no. Mazda dealerships like all dealerships charge back the cost to their head quarters in this case Mazda America. There are charge codes for this. Look at the end of each Service Bulletins.

Cool will mazda give that out willingly or is it a pain to get from them. I was wanting to find out if there was a way to get the history of the car on its recals to make sure the previous owner did it all. I will say he must have kept it in good condition, but looks can be decieving. Thanks for the info. I will email them tonight.

Yes, Mazda will give you a read out of all Dealer performed maintenance. Most dealers can do it, or call Mazda NA in Irvine, CA (toll free).

A TSB is not a recall and is not needed unless the car exhibits the problem... so if a TSB has not been performed, it does not mean the previous owner was at fault as the car just might not have the problem in the first place.

I just returned from the dealer. Initially, I arrived at the wrong dealer and started talking to the service guys and they definitely were not as willing to perform the TSB (basically no CEL = no TSB work). I realized my mistake and went to the dealership I initially talked to over the phone and they gave me no trouble with the TSB work. Waited for about 1.5 hrs and the invoice noted that they spent 0.6 hrs doing the MSP16 recall PCM flashing (which is twice as long as the Mazda 0.3hrs estimate).

However, it looks like the service dept didn't bother following Mazda's recommended procedures as they didn't attach the blue campaign label nor the authorized modifications sticker to the car, nor did they attach a battery charger during the performance of the procedure (I knew b/c I had petroleum jelly on the terminals to prevent corrosion and none of it was removed).

Car drives the exact same as when I drove it in, which is good

PS- the invoice calls this TSB a "recall" for some weird reason & the dealership just found out about this program this morning so I bet I was their first case.

There we go the first one we know of that got the new PCM load. There are some on here that I want to know how much the De-Carbon helps with compression. Before and after compression would be nice.

Same here. My dealer is pretty good overall, but they don't seem to keep up with the TSB's very well.
