I think the answer to all the problems this car has though would be to replace the engine... maybe find a totaled 2011 Sonota and do an engine swap yeah?
You would have to do a whole lot of cutting, welding and rebuilding to get any reciprocating engine into where the renesis engine now sits including restructuring the power plant frame.

There is nothing wrong with a well maintained renesis engine, and your engine internals are still under warranty.

Change it with new oil, then let us know the outcome. If it comes back, have it checked.

Don't listen to this idiot.
The dealer should be able to tell you what flash you're on. Don't worry about the milky stuff, it's normal. Just drive the car.

Agreed, anything that monchie says is unreliable.

If you call Mazda and have them run your VIN #, you should also be able to see what type of work ahs been done on your car, e.g. new flashes.

How many 8 owners are truly happy? I bought brand new 2005 Maza RX-8 for my son. after numerous problem the dealer repalced the engine at 18,000 miles. Now the dealer is replacing the engine at 31,000 miles. What legal action or consumer rights do we have against the maker of this junk car. As I try to sell it no one wants it. Any advise?

The internet at its worst. There's a reason why newspapers have editors.

Me with my car

That's how happy i am... slow and low.

Take care of the car, the car will take care of you. As simple as that.

That isnt quite true. No matter how much maintenance you put into this car it still gives you trouble.

Premature problems with :

CAT
Coilpacks
Fuel pumps
Engine mounts
Engine itself

Those are just a few of the common problems, and often for cars with less than 100 000 kms.

Now, dont get me wrong, I like my RX8 and enjoy driving it, but I think we've been deluding ourselves into thinking it doesnt have its flaws.

The maintenance on this car is insane and way above what a modern car should be. I still put up with it, because I live the driving experience, but... its costly and damn well annoying to be stuck on the side of the road, due to a fuel pump when the car barely has 80 000km...

Why is this still a sticky. I reported it but it's still a sticky. The links are broken and the TSB thread that Ash8 created the in the troubleshooting section is much, much better.

Because we need people who care in the position to do something about it. Maybe you should volunteer?
