Just rolled over 100k

So I just rolled over 100k with original engine, tranny, rear end, battery and so on. Only basic maintenance, plugs, wires and a set of coils and all the recall flashes, 3 replacement taillights and 3 replacement gas caps. She runs like a champ still. I have also replaced the springs, shocks get replaced this winter as well as the sway bars.

In fact just last weekend I saw 152mph on both my cluster and my GPS as I was matching witts with a Porsche 928 coming out of Providence in RI. Now I don't condone this kind of action but we all enjoy it every-so-often.

I still get 19.2mpg around town, and 21mpg on the highway. I do run premium gas, and 5w-30 in the winter, 10w-30 in the summer. Also running a K&N airfilter.

-Mike

I was just happy that she was pulling well, and as much as I don't condone it, I enjoy it hahaha.

The fastest I've every taken a car is 180 and that was freakin scary.

He's making a point that his 100K mile RX8 can still go 152 mph even though it was irresponsible on a public road.

I hope so, I plan on starting that project full force once the 7 is back on the road, which won't be long. Now I know some may flame over this but the Delorean is getting a Northstar V8. I am going to get one from a junkyard and rebuild it with a set of race cams and have the heads ported/polished and port match the intake. And since the car didn't come with cats from the factory I will just have 4ft of pipe going from the header out the back with some magnaflows on the back and a custom interior with a nice Boston Acoustic sound system.

Yeah, I get it. But keep in mind that there are teenagers driving 8s who read this board. They don't need to get the impression that doing 150+ on the freeway is just what everyone does with an 8. And now you're bragging about going even faster...though obviously not in an 8

Sounds very interesting. You'll have to start a thread on this in the General Automotive section when this gets underway.

And not on a public road, I had a 1995 Celcia GT-4 race car for a while and I got that thing moving on a oval track. Scary but fun.

So in what way would him saying that make a teen drive faster? Does it work the same way nobody knows the cursewords in US because they are bleeped on TV? Some people are going to drive like idiots, some people drive faster when it's reasonable, and some people follow the limits. That will never change. But better to be fast in an 8 than a SUV.

Great to see another car roll over 100k. I'm sure there are many more of them though, forum users with problems scream loudest.

This is an interesting maxim and philosophy. I like it. Don't condone it, just enjoy it. Enjoy but don't condone. Cool.

Welcome to the matrix.
