all I see, is cops arriving there, after the accident has occured, the real problem is that they NEVER prevent accidents, they arrive to write their shitty *** report, and then we call our insurance company

why the hell do we need them again?

A real excuse would be that you cut your hand off, so keep a sharp saw in your glove box and get going at it before he approaches your window..

Be sure to saw off your left hand so you can still shift..

Roll down your window and say "AHHHHHH OMG OMG AHHHHH, **** HELP HOSTPITAL AAAHHHH". No ticket for you buddy!

^ I'd get a double ticket, one for speeding, one for uncontrolled screaming.. And maybe another for spilling blood at the cop.. So it wouldn't work..

Then I'll just try to drive away, and the cop pulls me over again for reckless driving..

well as i said, he could read people like a book, so if you were truly late, then he would've let you go. and maybe if he was bored, he would escort you. too bad he's gone now

It's obvious the majority hate cops for citations that you received because YOU couldn't control you need to go faster. Not the cops fault. Not sure when or where you all have heard of cops zoning the speed limits. Now you guys can hate cops because the pulled you out of your car for no reason or because you were stopped at a no parking zone while dropping your gf off at work. That's understandable.

All of you that want to change the speed limit have a legitimate argument. However everyone in here knows, inclucing me, nobody does the posted speed limit on any road. Usually in a 30 you go 40-45. On the interstate in a 55-75 you go 65-85. I run radar and see it all the time. I even do it. So if the speed in increased then not only do YOUR speeds go up the lame *** excuses of "i was only doing 10mph over." Then the next line is "we need to up the speed and that cop is an *******. " People want to say all cops are a-holes and they don't understand what car we drive. When was the last time I came on here and defended any cop for any of YOUR citations that were YOUR fault? How many times I have given advice on what to do with YOUR citation? Last time I checked the same damn car you all drive is parked in my garage and isn't exactly stock. So your bs claim of cops pick on us because of our car I say up the speed accordingly, which isn't going to happen.
I drove an STi for 2 years and I got pulled over constantly...switching lanes too fast on the freeway, making right turns too fast, enything you can think of to harass me about...Once, I got pulled over for having an aftermarket exhaust! it took me 20 minutes to explian to the cop that STi exhaust comes from the factory and when he refused to listen I started laughing at him so he gave me a breathalizer test ON MY WAY HOME FROM SIX FLAGS!!!!! YES COPS PICK ON PEOPLE WITH WINGS AND SPOILERS AND HOOD SCOOPS AND LOUD EXHAUSTS.

The idiot with the Harley or Lambo is a good citizen but I'm a fuXking threat to commuters everywhere! Give me a break!

I'm sure you're a great cop and I respect the police, but I donno who you're trying to convince...cops simply don't have a good system for picking out the idiots from the enthusiasts...so they just pick on the cars that stand out like sore thumbs...the soccer mom that runs stop lights all the time but never gets pulled over should get her license taken away...the idiots that block intersections in rush hour traffic should be fined thousands for creating risky accident prone situations...etc.

I think we need a better system...one where if you have no accidents on your record (for X number of years) you cannot be cited for speeding unless it's exhibition of speed or something (double the speed limit)...it's just sad that it's never going to happen...even if my idea is stupid it doesn't matter because nothing is ever going to change about the stupid speed limits.

But please don't tell me that cops don't profile based on how "jazzed-up" a car looks...I know you don't really believe that.

Some officers are nice. No, I am not a cop. The problem is that "some cops are just plain ********" and a lot of others let their personal life affect the way they treat people. When you are in "Uniform" your supposed to be professional.

Example: I went to graduate school with two officers. Both of them were very nice people (to everyone at school). However, once in uniform they were completely different people. The "bad one" had been suspended twice for excessive force and was fighting to keep his job, while the other was just as nice as ever (uniform or not).

I also have two officers that live by me and one of them is an exhalent neighbor while the other throws all night parties (he works night shift) in his back yard and burns his garbage in a barrel (Illegal). And when you ask him to lower the music or call the (other) cops nothing ever happens because "he" is an officer.

I think most people that do not like cops do not like them because of the double standard. Police Officers can do what ever they want and nothing happens unless you sue or call a TV station. NM has had some good ones lately.

P.S. I do like what cops stand for but finding one that is a law-abiding citizen (the minority) is another story. I have too many "bad" stories to list, and only a couple good ones.

I don't have to go to court. But why did you lose 3 points?
The cop who pulled me over told me if I went to traffic school, no points would be removed. But I'd still need to pay that ticket.

"do you plead guilty? or not guilty?"
"not guilty"
"ok, come at XXX date"
arrives, "where's the officer?"
"Arresting Officer failed to appear in court, case dismissed, you are lucky son"
" thats what the last 5 judges said"

I live in Canada and we don't have anything like that...

1st time I've lost points in like 20yrs!! ****.... Canada is tough...I tried to get the points removed but it didn't work. They can only reduce the ticket by so much and I was originally going 93km.

No aggrivation. Just trying to point out the closed minded heads in here. Cops can be a-holes. I'm not one and never will be. I absolutely agree with you all. Just choose your words a little better and tune your thinking. It takes one a-hole cop to make everyone hate them. I am as nice as I can be on here and for some reason because of my profession my job is hated. And for the person who said they pay cops salary, you have no clue what you're talking about. Citizens, including law enforcement officers, pay more to state medicaid, medicare, food stamps, and living assistants to lazy *** people who don't want to work. Yeah, that does come from taxes. Also don't forget cops pay taxes too so if you want to bring up that argument, which is really shitty, if you work at a business or for yourself we pay your salary too. If your really pissed off that you pay cops salary i'm sure they will give you your $.10 back.

I'll say with a straight face that no cop I know targets cars for what they are. Motor units might but not your average patrol deputy. Your idea is the same as mine but as you said it will never happen. We cant make the we just enforce it. It's the same as working a regular job. There is **** your boss says do and you know someone wont like it but you have to do it. I could explain everything to any of you in person but it would too long and public on here. There is more that you all don't know about law enforcement than there is that you do know.

I've always wondered.. Is there some kind of big bonus when cops write tickets? And if it's worth more, do you earn more? I know many cops just love giving out tickets, is that the reason, or are they just the "a-hole" type..

well, the word on the streets is that they have to meet a quota, but i dont know if that true. maybe police34 can comfirm.

and for the record, i am very glad that we have a good cop on this forum, AND he is driving an 8

Not sure about other states but

Regular *Cop*, they should NOT have to meet any quota UNLESS they have a special *mission* to do that day, say *Routine* check us poor folks. try to pick on whatever tiny little thing they can find.

Traffic Cop, on the other hand, has a quota every day. and the more tickets they give out, they more rewards they can get. Hell there was this Indian dude who gave out like a mill something ticket a year or 2 ago. the City gave him a big award. I was like wtf.

In Florida it is illegal to have any type of quota system for any stat in law enforcement, including traffic. I would doubt any other state would have a quota either. Now, just because their is no allowed quota, that doesn't mean a Sgt, Lt, Cpt can't ask for more traffic details that will bumps up stats. You guys might not like stats but I quarantee you stats is what puts more LEO's on the street and brings in better services to the public. Stats are what is brought in front of the county commission and city commission. It's a two way street. You all bitch for citation but it reallity it helps the city, county you live in in the long run. Many of you might not see it that way but trust me it does. Different cities, counties, states use the revenue from citaitons for different means. It is not about the revenue from citations, all though you all probably think I am full of ****, right? Well no, if it was all about revenue, judges and cops would not reduce citation amounts and judges would not eliminate the points off your license. So bitch all you want about a ticket, your missing the real meaning of one though. And no, there is no bonus money for citations.
