Finally a speeding ticket!

Yes! I got a speeding ticket! First time ever! After a year with the 8.

And yes, it's true. I got a speeding ticket today going to work. And what pisses me off is that I always take that same road, and I go about the same speed all the time, mid 70s to 80. Well anyways, after speeding my way through the highway (didn't want to be late for work), I go up a hill and come down and guess what, 5 nice police cars are lined up.. I take the exit and well, one of the cops' comes behind me and flashes his lights and all and tells me to pull over.. And I do.. While me acting scared and nervous. His first question, "Do you have any reason why you were going that fast?" I replied, "because I didn't want to be late for work" .. Dumb answer.. Yes..
I forgot to add, I took off my seatbelt when I parked the car, and when he came up to me, he said "Ah, no seatbelt!" I was like oh no, I just took it off right now..

Anyway, he told me he clocked me going 75 on a 55. And what's some bs is that some cars next to me where about that same speed. But then I wait and wait.. And wait some more.. And he comes back again, and gives me the ticket. I asked him to please let me off with a warning since this was my first, he said he couldn't. Bastard..

So my ticket reads, 75 on a 55. And my fee.. Freaking $226!
F you cops! F you! Why don't I get love in the 8!

btw, anyone know how I can get this ticket reduced? This sucks..

that happened to me except i was doing 55 in a 35 down a hill, which isnt fair cause its so easy to speed in the 8, ESPECIALLY downhill. but he let me go with a warning. i told him i was late for work too. but it was 5:30 in the morning, so i think he understood

for the reducing of the ticket, just go the the court date for it. they normally cut the points or money in half just for showing up

Sorry about that and can't help on the reduction. Only hope might be if he doesn't show up for court?????
I swear this next little story is true and happened within the last month.
I'm on A1A on my way home from work and I stop to get a Dr. Depper.
I pull back on to A1A and am running through the gears(not my normal redline location), but felt like tromping on it some.
Anyway, he clocks me at 70mph in a 45 and yanks me over at hotel parking lot........comes to the window and asks to see all the normal crap.
My insurance is active, but I haven't put the new card in my wallet, so I tell him this and he heads back to his car for about 10 minutes.
Of course at this time, I'm just telling myself....you're a dumbass and deserve it.
He eventually comes back to the window after him running all my info and **** and says....."I could give you a ticket for well over $200.00, but I've had a sports car and I know it's hard to lay off sometimes, so it's gonna cost you $7.50 fee when you go down to the courthouse and show your valid insurance card.....have a nice day and try to hold it down". Of course, I'm like......."Thanks, and I really appreciate it, you have a nice day also!"

i always assume that when i'm speeding i'm gambling with 2 to 300 hundred bucks. If you can't gamble, dont play.

Your only chance for a reduction is to ask for a court hearing (or arbitrator, depending on how it works where you live). You run the risk of having to pay even more if the judge isn't in a generous mood. So once again, you're gambling.

Yeh, w/e. I'll go with $200. I'll get maybe 20 bucks off when I go to that damn traffic school class.. Ah, I've been speeding ever since I got the 8.. It was bound to happen some time.

I might consider buying a radar detector now.. At least I know it can maybe save me on those hills.. But yes, speeding is bad kids.

65 in a 45.

I contested the ticket down from 250 to 100 bucks. I told them I was just keeping up with traffic and that the cop was camped at the bottom of a hill.

Kind of a common misconception. A lot of people say going over 100 on the freeway is an instant impound of the car or an arrest or some ridiculous combination of both. In reality, most of the time it's just a huge ticket unless you mouth off to the cop. But once you start going much faster than 110, things get pretty ugly pretty quick.

Depends on when & where.. My first ticket was a 90 in a 65.. The cop just wrote me a ticket, which was a rediculous $400 in CA.. When my ol' man found out about it ( I was in his truck.. haha ) He talked to a CHP that said I could have been arrested & impounded. I think if its 30 over or something in CA they have that option.. I dont know for sure though..

Ha got you beat!

About 6 months ago one night leaving the Hard Rock. I was on 595 going west at about 4:30am. One of the passengers starts with the I think I have to throw up BS. I was like HELL NO!!!!

I was going 122 in a 65 trying to get there drunk asses home. I see blue lights it was a trooper. The cop said it took him like 10min to catch me. lololololol

I was screwed cause I had just gotten another speeding ticket the month before.

He bitched me out for about 20min.

Well next day I called my ticket attorney sent the information. They got rid of it some how for $69 fee that they charge. No pints no school no court costs.

Give them a call.
954-463-1500

I have only had to pay court costs once and that was back in 2000. And it was only $100.

I got pulled over a year ago for 77 in a 55, the cop knocked it down to 65 since it was my first time ever being pulled over and it was a 65 dollar ticket!! Good luck with your situation!

Any time you get a citation, ALWAYS contest it at first, you will then have to appear at preliminary hearing (w/ about 100 other people, LOL) where the DA or the judge will 9 out of 10 times reduce the amount to try to get you out of there and not take up the courts time at a real hearing. No matter what you will get it reduced, happens every time i have gotten cited for anything.

I got 30 days.. Well, now 29 days to think of something to do.
In the meantime, I'll be passing by that same road today, in about 30mins.. I'll go about the same speed. Can't F with me police!

Here's the road. You can see a hill, which hides everything in front. 5 cops were waiting at the first exit, the one I took.
