$503/month
100k/300k/50k coverage
(without this coverage i would be paying 200/month but i need it since its a lease)
$1000 deductibles

22, 1 accident , no tickets, no violations

Live in lower manhattan, I got this price cause of the risk of theft in my area, the rx8 is considered an "exotic" car and my coverage levels for a leased car.

Insurance is StateFarm, I'm about to switch to progressive and ill be paying $430/mth, Other company's are trying to charge me $800/$900 a month

Insurance is entirely dependant on location, age, records, car, and for some companies credit.

Im with geico, they gave me a discount as I work in the insurance field.

I used to pay 1390 with them in the begining and it continuously went down. Last 6 months i was paying 1310, I was involved in an accident while my girlfriend was driving the 8 ( I wasn't feeling well) and I got my renewal and it still went down as the court said it wasnt her fault (stupid idiot parked his car on a busy street in the middle of the day.) now I pay 1080 every 6 months for 2 cars, the 8 and a 2002 jetta 1.8t with 2 drivers .

Im 23 my girlfriend is 22

I pay like $328 a month. Only me under the insurance, no accidents, no moving violations, 21yrs old, no parking tickets(I know it doesnt matter). When you walk into an insurance place in Boston, the first thing they do is pull out the vasaline.

No thats only cause you are 21, what company is it that you have? Cause i can give you a good example of companies overcharging. Progressive here in miami, fl. wanted to charge me 4000 every 6 months for the rx8 and the jetta, I laughed at them and told them to screw off (we sell progressive here at my agency as well as other companies) I went with geico cause that stack of money kept following me around. Now i pay 1000 every 6 months as i said with 2 cars and 2 drivers with an accident on record (but not at fault)

I have Commerce Insurance.

I thought it was because I was 21 that they jacked the prices too. Me and my father have the same name hehe. So I went in with him, said it was his car(title shows same name) and got a quote for him then had them add me on as a secondary driver. My father pays $589 a yr for his insurance. For the RX8, they wanted to charge him like $1450 and to add me on it was like $1900 as a secondary driver. Since their was no real savings, I just put me in as primary and now I pay like $328 a month. MA insurance is rediculous. It wasnt up until like a year ago that we actually had competition against insurance companies(there was only a handfull in my area). Now, more companies are starting to offer insurance in MA and the prices are getting a little better. Once my policy is over I am sure I can find a better deal.

$1450 / 12 = $121

$121 (what you would have paid per month)-$328 (what you are paying per month) = $207

$207 (the difference) x 12 = $2484

so you are wasting an extra $2484 a year??? I'm not following

You did that completly wrong. You only found the monthly payments for my father and did not include me as the secondary.

Me as Primary Driver = $328/month = $3600 a yr(after 10%-15% upfront) <--- This is what I currently pay by myself(give or take)

This is what you forgot.

My Dad as Primary = $1450
Me as Secondary = $1900

1450 + 1900 = $3350 a year(no down since my dad is primary) = $335 a month (only 10 months of payments)

I could have saved $300 if I did it with my father as primary, but $300 is nothing and would rather just put it under my name.
