What are you paying For Insurance on your RX-8???

just wondering what every1 else is paying a month/yearly for their rx-8. can you post mileage/year of your car and your age/record(clean or tickets/crashes)

just curious about how much it really costs considering the rx8 to be a sports car.

and the mustang isnt considered a sports car correct?

and ya hello everyone lol

$640/6 months through Progressive -- Full coverage with pretty decent limits.

2004 w/ 47000 miles

24 years old, Zero tickets or crashes (at least as far as they're concerned)

and a Mustang is not considered a sports car... at least in my book ;)

MazdaManiac 12-22-2008 12:51 AM

Bout the same here from Progressive, but with no deductibles.
2004 and 93,000 miles.
42 years old and an endless litany of tickets - with no current convictions.

yet.

StealthTL 12-22-2008 01:03 AM

$680/year.

I must be feeble......

nuke0907 12-22-2008 10:46 PM

$467 for 6mo. for my 04 RX8 and my 95 240SX.

Juice 12-23-2008 02:50 AM

900 for 6 months, in CT. 24 years old, 1 ticket. GEICO insurance.

But it really REALLY depends alot on location. In NC I paid 400 for 6 months, same coverage, same driving record. As soon as I moved to CT, they raised it.

setsuwa 12-23-2008 03:03 AM

I am paying 250/month for my 06 and 91 240sx. 20 y/o. No ticket or accident.
Why do I feel like I am overpaying after I saw all the numbers...:icon_no2:

RebelYJ 12-23-2008 03:48 AM

^
Thats how I feel.

$260/month
19 y/o clean record
Even if I was on my parents policy didn't save me anything :icon_no2:

maybe its just CA screwing with me :banghead:

Chris311 12-23-2008 05:19 AM

$1800 a year with AAA.

05 40k miles.

Phil's 8 12-23-2008 06:28 AM

1200 per year with senior discount, multi car discount thru State Farm. No tickets or accidents - no deductible full coverage. I thought I was getting raped but about average according to this thread.

mybayse3p 01-01-2009 09:04 PM

I8U 01-01-2009 09:06 PM

$423/6 months, in NC, clean record, with Geico.

ZachLegend 01-01-2009 09:08 PM

heyarnold69 01-04-2009 11:17 AM

600 per year -- usaa

ShellDude 01-04-2009 11:24 AM

$520 / 6 months thru Progressive -- am 37 married w/ kids but was considered high risk because up until my 8 I rode quietly on my wife's insurance plan for the past 10 or so years.

Beyond the whole "no insurance consistently for the past year BS my record has been clean for the past 10 years. Don't ask about before that though.

I hope to see my rate drop when I hit the 12 month mark in March. If not I might shop around.

To be named later 01-04-2009 12:02 PM

Dang, some of you need to shop around for a better price..........or magically age a few years so you are in a supposed "safer risk" age bracket.

$418/6 mos, there may be a discount for insuring two cars, been with USAA for over 10 years.

43 years old, 2004 w/ 90,000 miles, no tickets on record.

One major accident in March 2008, which we were not at fault and the car was totalled. Renewed in 07/2008 and 01/2009 with no rate increase.

To be named later 01-04-2009 12:10 PM

That's gotta tell you something.......yes I know the insurance companies "discriminate" based on age, but damn.....my wife just totalled her other car in March, yet, our rate is the lowest posted so far in this thread.

Shop around.

ShellDude 01-04-2009 12:14 PM

When I first got my car, I talked to the Progressive Direct guy on the phone to make sure everything was exactly like I wanted.

We talked a couple minutes about teenagers and the RX8. He basically said I'd be screwed if I had my teenage son anywhere near my policy.
