haha yea well the tickets stay on the record for a few years.. sooo that was in my old days. I also had a z32 and 6th gen celica that were pretty much cop magnets due to the mods I had..

and I have to go through special brokers that find insurance for DUI's and the sort.

ehh don't feel to bad I learned my lesson. Plus it will go down in about a year or so after a few tickets expire off my record.

Just a bit of information for those who get reckless driving tickets in Texas (30+ mph over the speed limit)

I recieved a ticket at the end of October for a 95 in a 65. The cop let me go without having my car towed and me being taken to jail as it was 11PM at night and I was on my way to work, he cut me a break.

Its a good thing he did too because I wasn't even near going 95mph. I hired a lawyer and found out later that the cop admitted he used his rader on my car to clock my speed when he was driving on the frontage road under IH10 (Going under the bridge at Camp Bullis road). My lawyer reviewd his dashboard camera and found that the car he saw was NOT my car.

After he spotted "my" car going 95mph, he rushed onto IH10 to chase "my" car. Well, it was not my car, but another dark colored car that looked similar. Byt the time his porkor Crown Vic could even get up to highway speed, the car he saw was long gone. By the time he made it to 1604 he saw my car and thought it was the one he was chasing, pulled me over, and then wrote me a ticket. The dashboard video showed the car he was chasing for a brief moment, but it was long enough to determine that it was a different car. It looks like it was a Honda S2000 with a big spoiler on it. My car doesn't have a spoiler, so I do not know how the cop could have confused my car with the one he was chasing.

I did call my insurance company, told them the story, and then asked how much my insurance would have gone up with a reckless driving charge. My premium would have gone from $1800 a year to $2700 a year !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It varies more by location than anything else. People should be posting where the car is parked on insurance forms.

I'm in Calif, parked in Monterey. $800/6mo., 29yrs old, 1 ticket for crossing a double yellow (there was a semi blocking the turn lane!). Geico. Full coverage, i think $50k property dmg, $500 deductible.

$2,300 yearly with USAA, covering my 8 and my wife's '06 Mazda5, both of us are 28.

Full coverage
- $100k property
- $250k injury
- $500 deductible for collision
- $0 deductible for comprehensive
- 24/7 Roadside assistance (Think AAA without the hotel discounts)

I have >15 tickets in my history across 7 states, every single one for speeding (none in my 8), only 2 on public record currently (past 3 years). I got 6 in my first 6 months, and the slowest I have been clocked for a ticket was 17 over, highest was 32 over. license suspended 3 times for FTA, (all 3 times the first court notification I got was the suspension notification, the initial summons probably buried in family junk mail), and attended 1 correctional driving class.

I am REALLY surprised USAA never dropped me, but last cycle I got the insurance discount for safe driver, for >10 years of contract, and a new discount calculating on people that have paid more than they have cost. There is no way USAA doesn't keep some record of my past vagrancies, even if they aren't allowed to use the ones off public record.

Thats just ridiculous. They should fight for your business, but instead insurance companies don't give two ***** about their loyal customers...

Your lucky ross, way cheaper than mine! I just switched and I'm still paying $2400 a year

My insurance agent was shocked when she looked up the RX-8 because the rate listed was double what I paid on the car I traded in with the exact same coverage. She said the RX-8 is listed among the highest rate bracket with exotic cars. Because I have a perfect record this came out to $1250 a year for full coverage on an 08GT

I think this is because the car has some aluminum and carbon fiber pieces that makes it an expensive repair in a collision. Different companies definitely treat this car differently. I got a quote from another company close to $2000. This is with a perfect driving record.
