i just went through this a while back. odd idle, gas mileage down..

i stopped premixing. ran a heavy dose of fp+ on one tank. then a can of 44k on the next.

funny, compression and mpg are back up..

I know some folks were still not sure which hotel is nearby my house to stay at.

Here is the hotel I am recommending: Silver Cloud Broadway.

I just checked my plugs and am glad I did. They had quite a bit of tan build up on them. now they are clean and ready to go!

Not always.

I had a persistent misfire on the first couple of sessions at PIR yesterday.
I finally pulled the plugs and they looked basically OK.
I put in a fresh set and the car was a whole new animal.

Friday evening Highway datalog session details:

Okay I've found a place to meet on Friday after I pick up Jeff to do some highway datalogging. Jeff mentioned we can get a head start on street tuning Friday night to make Saturday go smoother. Please let me know who can make it. Here are the details:

Let's meet in the Safeway parking lot at the intersection of S 1st ave and SW 148th ave in Burien around 5:30pm.

We can do some runs on WA-509. It's usually not too crowded and there are some easy on and off ramps.

Here is the address: 1st Ave S & SW 148th St, Seattle, King, Washington 98166

After that we'll all go to dinner together around 8:00 or so.

Mine basically looked like your FL. I cleaned them up with a scratch awl and some sand paper. I was Careful not to bend the electrode and affect the gap.

Man, that's way south, I'd have to leave pretty early and 405 south is ALWAYS a mess, every day, every time. If I leave at 5 and take 148th as far south as I can... count me in though, I'll just leave work early

Well, I sent my datalogs. But I noticed once I opened the cruise log, I did not quit get up to 4200 RPM. Jeff will most likely smack me upside the head today.

I'll do another on the way home after work, and get it right.

Yeah. I recommend going to min 4500. The tach always reads about 300rpm higher than actual. As long as you are above 4200rpm you go in to open-loop mode so it can be a log at any RPM above 4200 as long as it's constant.

Ok, quick question for anyone around. For my 2 drive cycles to be ok to test, is highway driving ok? I have a ~30min commute home if I cheat. If I don't cheat, it's 90min of stop and go traffic.

you mean the two cycles before you run the data logs? i think it's just supposed to be two full cycles from cold to hot to cold so the driving conditions shouldn't matter

That's fine as long as you let the car completely cool down first.

Remember datalog your 3rd drive cycle.

Idle for 30 seconds then highway for a couple minutes at 4500rpm+ in fourth gear.

That's good. I *ahem* shifted into 5th at 8500rpm tonight. Even the base map from MM though made a noticeable difference at low RPM's (or is it the placebo effect?).

So yah, car will cool off overnight, 1 cycle done. Commute in tomorrow will be #2. Then I'll stay late so I can hit 4500rpm on the way home for the datalog.

hmmm...

Brother in-law may need help removing lots of tree debris from the mother in-laws house Saturday.

Hang out in Seattle with several like minded car freaks and drink lots of beer or lots of physical labor and no beer helping family?
