I'm rethinking my game plan for next year. If I get a blessing to boost this engine to say, 9 PSI, then I will go ahead and boost it. The spare engine will still get built, and remain a backup for my boosted car.

EDIT: RWHP / RWTQ POSTED FOR EACH (note: these are the last runs for each, but smoothed out for the print resolution and dyno fluctuations. This lowered everyone's numbers from what you saw on the live monitor, which was showing peak numbers, not the average.)

1) Deminic '09 RX-8 MT NA: 164 / 127
2) Dondo '07 MS3 MT TC: 224 / 264
3) Dondo '04 RX-8 MT FI Pettit SC: 256 / 173
4) Nemesis8 '04 RX-8 MT NA Street Port: 190 / 136
5) Pdxhak '04 RX-8 MT FI BNR/Greddy TC: 204 / 187

/\ the heartbreaker

pdxhak - not meaning to be an *** but : fixing your wastegate issue will not cure the underlying issue you obviously have from looking at that dyno ....

brettus,

You keep talking around what you think it is without just coming out and saying it Spill it if you think it is something that can help me. The actuator will be adjusted later today. What else do you think we should look for?

Deminic's numbers look low to me. (even with the smoothing out)

yes - and we ran him first to gauge the dyno day baseline. He is bone stock. I agree, that looks low.

we need to run all the cars on another dyno on the same day and see what happens.

If I get a positive response from the actuator being adjusted then I will get on the dyno before the final tune with MM on 12/17.

I never claimed to know what the issue was . But it is very obvious there is one apart from the wastegate . That is why even a poor dyno is good information.

Did everyone check their AP for the datalog? I believe I have the log on my last run, and I pulled 233 gm/s. Curious if you guys have yours as well.

What do you have for an exhaust? You are using a Davesport cat, correct? Who fabricated the mid-pipe & what materials did you use?

Here are a few pics of the mid-pipe I had made:

I'm a bit surprised your numbers were not higher. Was that discussed at all, i.e., relative to my numbers?

Racing Beat Straight Midpipe with Davesport Cat and BHR Resonator. You have the same diameters as I do, (i.e., the OE flanges), but our resonators are the difference.
