You could always install them loose for now, but wired up and working. Just tape them to something.

Yeah, they should come with mounting cups too, just tape those down and you're good to go until you get your pod.

^^^ that is a good point.
installing the sending units, adapters, and running the wires is the most difficult / time consuming part of the install so you could get that out of the way and pretty much tape them to the dash where that evo-r pod would go.
not the prettiest thing in the world but we're not out to win any trophies, just want something functional for the tuning day.

how much does evo-r sell that pod for? I'm on their site but it won't let me click on the pod for details & price.

Just the other day I was joking with Aipex8 about using duct tape for the gauges

The CF pod like phil's is $139 I think. The other pod is which I prefer is $79.

This looks really bulky to me. What do you guys think?

I like the 3 tube version.

Also saw this today but it is $250. MS replica gauge pod.

Anyone hear of china-real? Looks like 52mm anyway. Thinking it is a Feed replica but not 100%.

the tube version looks good, definitely not as bulky as what Phil has. How are they held in or is it one big piece that replaced the top panel?

the MS replica looks quite nice as long as it doesn't come with that big logo in the center.

3rd option looks like 52mm

Monday Morning Checkup - Sat the 4th is this week!

How is everyone looking for being ready? I need to change some oils, but other than that, looks like I am ready.

Turbo kit will be finished today. Fresh oil, plugs, coils, and midpipe done. Anyone swapping tranny fluid?

Kit is in great hands but will look it over as well. They worked on the car all weekend to make sure the car would be ready! The install took a little longer than expected due to weather, holiday, and some issues with the kit. But they got it handled. FD3S Engineering rocks!

Great stuff . It's a good idea to double check how they did all the vacuum connections . Many shops seem to get it wrong for post 2006 8s because the greddy instructions don't cover the updates .

OMG! That is by far the ugliest gauge pod set up I have ever seen for the 8. The Lotek looks way better in my opinion.

Get a new front crush gasket if you can. The rear donut can be reused several times, but the front really should be tossed after each crush. It may seal, but why waste the time changing it twice?

If you could get it installed prior, that would be great. We will however have time there to do it there also. I will have tools with me. So, really makes no difference.

Do you need the base turbo map installed to drive it home and to the shop? Or are you going to drive like granny and stay out of boost?

I do not have the AP to load a base map. I will try not to drive the car much before Saturday to avoid any issues. Not sure how well the car will drive with the bigger injectors as well.

Order rearranged for Dondo to go first, since he has to leave Sat and head home to plan a party.
