Honda motor swap
It is possible to swap any engine into any car. You can put a steam engine on a scooter, you can put a ship engine in a Fiat 500.
It all comes down to cost. NO swap is cheap. In fact, swaps are expensive enough that in the life of the car you will likely never make your money back.
The cheapest swap on the RX-8 would be to swap in a 13b from the RX-7, and that is still in the neighborhood of $12,000-$15,000 USD (no idea what the conversion would be for you).
If you pay someone to swap in any piston engine, expect to pay more than the price of buying a brand new base BMW 3 series.
If you want a more fuel efficient car, but a more fuel efficient car. Doing a swap to obtain it is financially stupid.

they mostly just hate the exhaust sound
and most of the peoples from the past who projected all that look like the photo above now, having long since departed from the RX8 universe ...
you’re going to have a go with the firewall putting that in an RX8 though, at least one or more MRZ swaps on here will help you understand that better
