you have a 13b where you live has a LOT (emissions = $$$$) to do with the costs.

I KNOW A PLACE WHERE U CAN BUY A 20B TT OFF A 95 COSMO 30-40K MILEAGE, WARRANTY, W/ TRANNY AND ALL WIRING. NO WIRING CUT FOR $5K, AS FAR AS SOMEONE DOING TO THE WORK>? ULL HAVE TO ADD THAT ON TOP...... TRY TO FIND A SPONSOR FOR THE WORK...FIRST BUY THE ENGINE AND TRANNY. THAT WAY ULL HAVE SOMETHING TO NEGOTIATE WITH FOR THE SPONSOR.

LOOKS LIKE U HAVE UR CAR GOING
IM IN CALIFORNIA

Yes. Yes he does.

If you do it right you're going to wind up replacing basically the entire drivetrain - motor to wheels.

I thought about this but not till my warrenty goes dry. Ill just do a 5.3l rear mount turbo instead.

So the big money is just the motor, tranny (or mod bellhousing and use a T56) and rear dif? Or are the shaft to weak too? Fuel pump, lines, oil coolers, ignition system thats all the smaller stuff.

Hate me for this, but 20k sounds like a farfetched number unless you take it to a shop. For that kind of money you could link 2 13Bs and going extreme throwing a motec 800 with some left over for a trip to hawaii.

no no no, you actually only need 10k for the engine and swap... the extra 10k is for hookers and dancers to keep you busy while you dont have a car because its in the shop getting a new engine..... it could take awhile so better budget about 10k for the women.

I have access to plasma cutter, mig and tig welders. As long as the rear dif will hold up which it should seeing how guys at putting 350 with the turbo kits now. So just mating it with a transmission, fuel and new ignition systems is the money.

Taking your car to shops is like getting herpies from a hooker though.

Or someone bust my bubble cause it really doesnt seem like a expensive or hard swap. Well maybe for people who cant change their own oil

Not everyone has the tool or knowlege to rebuild their engine bay just to start with. Not to mention little things like the throttle control steering, weither or not u want things like a/c, power steering, factory gagues, or DSC to still work.

What ever u do dont listen to angeljov he has absolutely no clue what it takes to make it all work.

My engine was 3500 when I bought it ended up costing me like 7G's after rebuilt. Im hoping you want to rebuild it or should i say "refresh it" before puting it in there... right?

in other words. if the engine cost you 5000 and you do it right , you would spend and extra 3000 between partes and labor to have the engine ready to go. So that my friend alone is 8000.. I spend well over 2 grand only in fittings and lines. Plus, ignition system ( mine was over a grand), Ecu, motor mounts, turbo manifold, turbo, intercooler, piping, downpipe, wastegate, BOV, fuel pumps, filters, regulator , injectors..... mmm and lots more.. If you are planning to do it right from the start that is... If you want to cut corners, WEllll you just going to spend more money , becouse you are going to need all this sooner or later... Ohh and have a couple of extra trannies, rear ends available... And of course a lot of hours into the swap

rx8 tranny matches perfectly. The only problem is the 20B has to much torque. If you take it easy it holds for a while. The problem is its very hard to take it easy knowing you have a monster... \hahahaha

t56 is what you are looking for. However there a ton of options you can go with for getting the RIGHT t56.

The 20B FD guys have been using t56's for a while now with great success.

However, I know angeljoelv had a t56 at one point and broke it, so take that for what its worth. I'm fairly confident it can be done, if done right. There's a zillion ways to do a t56.
