I'd love to see yours sometime. You guys have meets? I'm so new to this site, just got my 8 in March. Haven't made any mods and I am not sure if I'm going to just yet. I may wait until the warranty expires. What do you think?

 

I pass a black 8 from time to time on route 7 (Old Philly Rd). You have the new MD plates? I think your car is the spitting image of mine, if so. I work right off of Rte 7 in Aberdeen. Pretty close to the base (Old Philly & 715)

I'm down to meet sometime. Yeah I work at the clinic on APG, but I'm at edgewood at least once a week. And yes that's definitely me on 7, I drive that way every day. Old Philly and 715, by where that new shop just opened? This weekend is good for me you you guys want to gather, or lunch durring the week is fine too.

 

i really wanna make it out to a meet to meet everyone and maybe get some suggestions. i have weird hours at work which includes all weekends. however i will be quitting my job in a few weeks and finding a part time job as i am starting law school in august so hopefully ill be able to make it out :D

after a nice relaxing drive, took a couple quick pics,,,

 

FML ! Today on my way to work my car lost power in the middle of I-95. CEL started blinking and kept losing and gaining power... Managed to turn around and come back home (of course it shut down couple of times but managed to restart). My guess.. my engine has come to an end, and even worst my car has 115K miles, so bye bye warranty.... Having it towed to S. Thomson Mazda in Baltimore. I hope their service is good....

I had a rough day, speaking of paint. They were painting outside and overspray got ALL OVER my car. Thank God my company is letting me put in a claim, they'll pay to have it fixed up. Which means pretty shiny car for me!

That sucks man! How much are you looking at for repairs? About 3K for a rotary I'd assume
I'm glad I got extended warranty through ford ESP so even if Mazda doesn't give me a new engine, all I'll have to pay will be the $100 deductible

Sounds to me like you lost a plug, wire, or coil, or combination. Blinking CEL means misfire. I had a leading plug wire pop off and it felt like a half-dead engine. The coils in these things are known to fail at 30-40k miles.

Hopefully it's just ignition failure of some sort. Good luck.

Hey....

A lil update, wankel u were right... plugs and coils failed... Got them replaced, and went to pick it up again, once I left the dealer, everything seemed ok and once I started to rev, the CEL starting blinking again. Took it back and looks like it is one spark plug that doesn't wanna work, hopefully it will be all over tmr :-). So glad It is not the engine heh....
