Sorry for not resopnding to your pm, its not a catback exhaust and its not free, Moon has helped me with alot of stuff on my car and that offer was for him, I have already given the gutted Cat pipe to him, and waiting for an answer from someone who expressed interest in the one with the core. If they are not interested the price would be $200(RP Super-cat pipe, with less than 7K miles on it)
@ Raven. I would try an angle grinder before a sawzall.
@ Wanklebolt. Yah i wanna do cobb access port, and know it's a pretty simple process. I am looking to improve performance as well as aesthetics, and love the sound of exhaust with a midpipe. My car is going to hit 50k this summer, and I am a little on edge because I had a misfire this winter, and I know the coils are one of the best things you can replace to improve the life of the engine.
For me this summer is about getting the car ready to sink some serious money in it down the road. I don't know when I will get into FI, but I wanna make sure the car is up for it when I have the funds.
And I was planning on doing the cobb accessport or some other kind of reflash/ecu upgrade, I just don't know much about it. Care to elaborate?
P.S. I go to Forest Hill like once a week. My girlfriend's family lives up there, and they are all heavily into German imports. Dad drives an Audi, my girlfriend drives an 08 r32 and her two sisters have gtis. The sister's boyfriend drives a heavily boosted S4.

I wouldnt mind setting another one of those up. Could be local like we did before or at an actual crab shack somewhere with bathrooms and draft beer
If you drink enough beer, you can make a bathroom out of anything!
I can't do a road track day without that stupid light flashing at me at least once. Usually many times, often locking-solid with good ole f***-me P0302 (misfire) code. A single misfire isn't going to hurt your engine. Not driving it like you stole it will do more harm to the Mazda Rotary than a misfire. I'm over 40k miles, with several thousand miles full-throttle on-track. Compression's fine, and I'm still on original battery, crappy original starter, and only second set of stock plugs and coils. Starts every time, hot or cold, never floods (part of it is technique). You'll be fine.

If you ever see a very loud red 8, often cruising at, uh, "extra-legal" speeds in that area it's probably me. Can't miss my license plate: 9000RPM
I can confirm VP Auto does really great work, but my butt still hurts from the pounding it took when I got the bill. If you want perfect work, that's the place to go, but it's going to $$$hurt$$$. They are nice guys, they probably still remember my bent-up 1985 Spec RX-7. They mostly do BMWs and were a bit surprised I wanted them to fix my rolling heap.

For a more economical option, Auto Eurotec in Bel Air does a good job. He fixed my 8 after I spun into a Jersey wall during an ice storm a couple of years ago. That was not covered by insurance. I hate ABS brakes!

insurance will pay for it! Definitely not taking their recommendations for auto shops anymore! Thanks!!
Wankelbolt I have seen you cruising by on 924. Actually I heard you first. Yah I'm putting money aside, but I currently have exhaust envy toward my girl's loud-as-hell v6. Another big reason i'm thinking about coils is because my gas milage seems to be falling off. Last summer I was getting maybe 18, and now its more like 15. I have heard too many good things, and even felt the results the difference new coils make. I have not however had any 8 owners take a look at or ride in my car, which would probably be a great first step. Also taking it to heath at heritage mazda in bel air.
As far as paint and body work goes, I have a secret for you guys. Go to magic customs. Guys name is magic mike. He does all the work for No Limit Inc. has 18 years of exp, and does all the work personally himself. Which is why he doesn't want me to tell the world about him. He had high profile clients and his work is amazing. I took my 8 in for some insurance work, and he buffed out a bunch of scratches, pulled dents, and even blacked out my marker lights free of charge!
I will definately be going to him for future work, because the guy knows his stuff, and I won't have to deal with anything being messed up by "the new guy"at all those other shops.
Also, he isn't advertised anywhere, so let me know if you want his number.

Is anyone else planning on doing any work on their cars any time soon? I am available nights and weekends to help
or just hang out and learn. I
have read a ton of diys and have experience doing routine stuff, but really want to get into upgrades.
