Coke how'd you get a sony head unit installed? and how much did that cost you...

I'm looking to put my two 10" rockford subs in my 8 but I'm not sure the Bose system recognizes the subs, do you know if I need a new head unit?

 

I also saw another silver RX-8 in the Loch Raven area about a month ago...all I remember about it was that it had a black bra on the front bumber...checkin to see if that's anyone here as well

 

I'm leaving work early on Monday so I can't be there. What side of town do you live on? I can be anywhere anytime during the day in Balt. Co..We could meet up on Monday somewhere else. Do you work Sat. evenings?

 

The easiest way is to use a line converter off the rear deck speakers....add an amp...and an enclosure w/subs. I have a single 12" Kicker in a sealed enclosure I made myself ( I couldn't find one to fit the small 12" trunk opening). As far as adding a new HU, there are many threads on that but its something that is expensive and difficult to do.

 

Thanks mac...yeah the line converter seems to tbe the way to go, but I think I have to shell out $75 at best buy for that (right coke?)...and the box I have for my subs came out of a sentra, so it definitely doesn't fit in the trunk of the 8...gotta get two space saver boxes and put them in separately, which is also a pain!

 

first Sage.. how you know i had a sony head unit? :-P to let you know i install everything in my car my self.. i just read the manual.. and for the line converter i can check that out for you tomorrow i work later tomorrow.. you gotta remember i work in geeksquad not other parts of the store.. so you gotta give me a chance to find stuff and i get back to ya..

Loews is at The Avenue in White Marsh.

We were just going to meet each other for a few minutes since White Marsh is close to us. We invite anyone else to come if they can. I would like to meet everyone, but I haven't been able to make the past meets on Sundays. Maybe we can do a meet on a Sunday soon (before it gets too cold).

No, not yet unless you have gone to the VA meets. It is about the same distance for me either way. (from kensington) but far for you. Actually I have only met mazdamaniac from this forum (that I know of.)

Mac is you wanna meet next friday.. i know a guy on the rx7 forum said he'll come up.. but his 7 is out of commision right now.. it just needs a motor. but he still would like to meet everyone.. He is only able to get off every other friday. let me know what ya wanna do.

 

anybody get down to zoom zoom live today(saturday)?? It was definitely a sweet time, if you got there early that is...and if not I feel very sorry for your legs considering the lines were a mile long...still an awesome time though.

 

we need more 8s to show up for the meet on the 18th ,,,,,, But i will deff be there ... mayve my system will be done by then all depends on how much i wanna work on it ....

Good to meet you too Coke...I can be there next Friday but without my 8 (working on Friday but can still make it). The Mx-6 should hopefully be done by then too!!!!

 

i couldnt make it up to White Marsh (lowe's) had to take my 8 in for some recall work, and as far as zoom zoom is concerned my time was scheduled for 315 and the lines long and I did not want to wait around, but I am for sure going to the autocratz thing at Best buy next weekend!! I am having a lot of work done on my 8 and I will be ready to show it off! Hope to see some of you there!
