you guys realize there is a whole thread dedicated to this... https://www.rx8club.com/ne-rx-8-forum-29/may-23rd-8th-annual-maryland-rotary-car-show-165551/
I'm not going because my car's up on jack stands and won't be ready to go by tomorrrow. Here's what I'm installing:
SS brake lines
SS clutch line
Synthetic trans/diff fluid
Painting calipers

I also have some new shinies coming... I decided my current wheels are a bit too narrow to put down the power I'll be making with the turbo, so I got some 18x9.5 RPF1s in the special coating with some 165/35/18 sticky summer tires.
I've pretty much decided to go completely insane with the car and to mod the living hell out of it. Exhaust and brakes are next.
OK so this is coming on page 129 but "Figured I should say Hi. I am living in Maryland now. In Bowie to be exact. I have seen alot of 8 in the past 12 months I have lived down here. Know some of you are on this sight so I will post a pic and honk when we pass. Just don't be surprised if I pass yah. LOL" See you guys on the road.
Im thinking about starting my instal but going as far as the Pettit intake, maybe do the harness and mount the coils. I have to relocate the OMPs so I also need to build a mount for them plus pull the old mounts out. Pretty much make the top of the motor visable.
I had a nightmare last night and woke up screaming in a cold sweat. In the dream I was driving down the highway and my transmission went up. Hope I don't have that dream again.
It's probably going to rain, but I was planning to try and find somewhere dry to finish the meth kit install. All that is left is mounting the pump and wiring the controller at this point.

HA! that won't happen. no more blowing up motors. i'm putting it back to stock, with the exception of headers, straight pipe, and my JIC exhaust. everything else will be bone stock (engine wise).
Yeah the wheels look pure sex... I didn't even know RPF1s came in that coating otherwise I would have bought them originally. I got my heat wrap from Ray today, so all my turbo components are piled in a big stack and I talked to Sam from PFS and they are ready to start installing when I drop her off on the 11th.
So, I had an interesting morning. I just replaced my original spark plugs the other day with some new iridium plugs to go with my shiny BHR ignition upgrade. I hadn't gotten a chance to really open the car up since the plugs got swapped, so I used my ride in to work to really push the car. In an attempt to get a measurable value for my cars performance I've been cataloging the rise of the mass airflow as I add mods. Airflow isn't a foolproof way of measuring the car, but it gives a general indication. I just hit a new record today of 260 g/s naturally aspirated. I think my old plugs were bad because thats amazingly high for an NA car and I was flying. Less than 2 minutes later I got pulled over for a missing front plate.... bleh.
I'm laughing, but only because I know your pain. And they raised the fine to $60. Jerks.
Eliminate the front plate, sign the petition:

man, i signed that thing over a year ago...still nothing!!! ******* MD...
*i wish they would reimburse me all the tickets i paid for not having my plate on. i could actually get an expensive mod with that money.

It was MD State. I was on the phone with him when she lit him up. "I just hit 260g/s! ... Oh god, this trooper is going to pull me over... Yep...getting pulled over. Gotta go."
Was wondering if he was going to jail for a bit
Front plate sucks... I just put on the autozone bracket over the weekend after my $85 ticket. Coming off every time I leave RI though...still hate it, even though it isn't *** fugly down there in the corner.

The stupid cop was like "Where is your front plate? Do you know where it is?" ...I just looked at her.... looked at the plate less than a foot from her hand on my front dash easily visible... looked back at her........ slooooowly pointed to the plate....
Years ago (maybe around 1992) I was waiting at a light later in the night on Rte 40 at the intersection of St. John's lane. A cop pulled up in the lane next to me and looked over, then away. I was driving a relatively new Firebird Formula and it had just been cleaned so it was gleaming black.
As the light turned green he waited for me to go ahead and then he pulled in right behind me. He and I, the only cars on the road got onto Rt 29 and he stayed right behind me for 3-4 miles while I drove 54mph and checked the rearview mirror every second waiting for the lights to come on.
After awhile he got tired of waiting for me to do something and pulled across the rode and got off at the next exit. I'll never forget that. He profile me for miles and the only reason was becaue of the car I was driving and I was a young male.
