I'm going to totally try and hijack this for a bit...
Where would you recommend I take my precious 8 to get her washed properly?
I have a car wash stall in my apt complex but the water is leaving this gross dirty blackness to it. Really don't appreciate it. Basically just looking for some detailing shops I guess.
I live in the Landover/Hyattsville area (Right outside Fedex Field) though I wouldn't be opposed to traveling a bit for quality.
Thanks!

Honestly I would get the MR.Clean car wash kit,,,
It works great, and filters the water thats pumped through it...
Other than that I dont know know I dont trust anyone else to wash my cars...

From: 12 o'clock on the Beltway.
So I was trying to call around and find a place that could coat my turbo manifold and piping, but the lady at the powdercoating place said I needed ceramic coating because manifolds and piping got too hot to powdercoat. She didn't have any recommendations on a place that could do ceramic coating. Anybody A) know if she is correct B) know if there is a good ceramic coating place I could get my GReddy manifold and piping coated at?
Swaincoat is another option.
While I cant quantify the benefits, the heat on my pass. side footwell has definitely decreased and I even removed all the asbestos tape. The other unquantifiable and potential benefit is better energy transfer to the turbo by keeping the heat in the manifold.
Overall, should be around $200.
If I can I'll pick up one of those Mr Clean kits tomorrow and let you know how it goes.
Lol... well, it wasn't me because I am rarely if ever out by Whitemarsh. I can understand why somebody thought it might be me though, not that many 8s in the area with big CF wings.
Ok, im in town and ive scored a workshop to get what needs doing done. My phone number is 561-596-5410. I have full backing of Cam and the other guys at Pettit. Till I can get an engine room settup ill be having my rebuilds done there and I have a tranny guy if yours needs fixing. Everything else can be taken care of inhouse.
Welcome to Maryland.
Must be an RX-8 day; on the way home I past a Shinka coming out of the Lowe's/Sam's parking lot onto Beaver Dam road, and a BB sitting on Pleasantville waiting to turn left onto 152. Both drivers were completely oblivious despite having a bright red and loud 8 charging at them...

And for my third spot in less than two hours, I saw a Winning Blue at Tollgate and Bel Air road as I was heading up to Salvo.
BTW the engineer who decided where to put the oil filter and dipstick needs a swift kick in the crotch. >-( I just put in the Lebren dipstick light and it's a winner.
Lpr, that does suck, but it happens a lot. Not to much hassle to fix (though true better if it didn't happen at all). Get the revised gasket from Mazda for a few bucks and spend an hour with a wrench and a hair dryer and all is well.
