sorry. i had an appointment with my bodyshop today. $1500 to get my kit painted. a bit more than i wanted to spend, but they'll fit it properly too. although, fitment isnt really an issue at all.

 

I just wanted to say, thanks to everyone for coming out to our RX-8 gtg today to get Moon's stuff stowed away in storage and do some install work, eat some burgers and chill. Thanks very much to everyone that helped with the move, helped installing stuff, or provided a house for us to chill at and get some work done. Today just proves again what a great club this is, with some really cool people. I hope to hang with you all again tomorrow for sushi!

I did take some pictures of the move and install stuff today, but I'm dog tired so I'll post them tomorrow or Monday time permitting.

nah dont tint,,, come over my place sometime and what Im doin will work on yours too,,, I baked them open and painted all the silver trim black...

 

When and where is the next meet? I'm really wantin to try to make it to one before I get out of the Navy and head back to Arkansas.

You missed a heck of a two-day event (and a near-drowning from the sky Sat. evening, but I defer to Wankelbolt for that tale).

Soloed Sunday afternoon in Novice Group, managed to outrun or keep pace with everything but three Corvettes with "Z" somewhere in the name, a '86 Dodge Shelby Turbo Omni two badass VW R32s and a Miata that carries it's own hairdryer .

On the way home (made it under my own power this time!), I noticed a whine coming from the drivetrain that seems to be from the transmission. Shifting seems OK, but the whine is most noticeable in 3-4, a bit less in 2nd, barely there in 6th. Input shaft, or start looking for a replacement trans? "How do you make a small fortune in racing? Simple, start with a large fortune." - Jack Roush, among others...

 

Hey Greg.... did you have any issues with baking your headlights? We need to talk ha ha

I can't wait! The most time I have spent around other RX-8's is when we meet on the highway and cruise until either of us has to jump off.

An OC Cruise sounds like a good idea... I will be down OC June 5-7 for the Ocean City car show, me and my company will be inside the covention center with our new booth! We are leaving Friday morning and setting up once we get there but its a huge show for those who don't know... If anyone wants to join shoot me a message and I will give you guys the details....
