Hey Roxie8... your car looks gorgeous! I am not brave enough to do something like that to my car! I also have a white 8 and am in the baltimore area. Hopefully I'll get to see you around sometime!

Did you miss me? Haha yes I've been busy with school/work. Only 6 months left til I graduate!

So when's the next meet? I need some motivation to wash my car... it's a tad scuzzy.

Hey Roxie! Like Greg (Rotr8) said, I'm in White Marsh a lot and I drive a Ti-Grey 8. I'm trying to keep up with the NE forums more, but it's tougher now that I can't access this site at work (damn websense filter). Hopefully I will meet everyone around here soon if we can get a meet organized. Most likely when the weather gets warmer!

So I've decided that it's been 2 years that I've had my car and I haven't done jack to it (except clear corners, a sub, and my iPod integration).

I'm going to FINALLY get my windows tinted, blackout my tail lights, and get the mazda factory body kit.

BUT. For some reason, I just don't like the rear aero flares on the mazda factory kit so I'm thinking of nixing them and just doing the front and sides. Do you guys think it would look alright?

umm maybe... the rear finishers are just that, they do finish the look IMO,
also be careful about blacking out the lights since our reverse light is in there too,,, cops may not look favorably on that,,,
why not some perfomance mods, or maybe some suspension mods

Well I'm thinking if I don't like the way it turns out without the rear flares, I'll just get them.

Performance/suspension can come later on... I'm more into appearance atm.

As for blacking out the tail lights, my boyfriend is a state inspector and can sign off on it if I should get a ticket Even so, I don't think I want to completely black them out because I just looked at some more pictures and I'm thinking it's too dark. Maybe I'll just darken them a bit.

So, Rotr8, when you headed out for the 24hrs of Daytona?

I can't say I've ever heard of a HPDE using the Daytona course, but that would absolutely rock. Can you imagine your car running on the same course as the Speedsource GTs?

C'mon, winter, get the hell out of Dodge...

VIR is on the agenda for this year. I *WILL* be doing some driving events now that I have a Real Car (as opposed to that verdammt PT Cruiser I had last year). Considering those tracks within six hour's drive (Summit, VIR, NJMP, Pocono and Watkins Glen), I'll be able to smack down my daughter's inheritance pretty well.

Pettit's on the schedule? Now I am Truly Depressed.

I think the rear flares add a subtle improvement to the RX-8. It's true they're not the best addition to the car, but they definitely finish the look of the side flares. IMO the RX-8 rear end is already pretty high and the rear flares bring the rear side profile down just a bit. Have you seen the Mazda rear mud guards? Some people actually like those over the flares, but I don't think you can have them with the side flares (someone please correct me if I'm wrong though).

Just wanted to drop in and say hello. I'm probably picking up a used 8 in the near future. I'm currently living over in Landover (right on top of Fedex Field, basically). Anyone live over my way?

So I ordered my tail light tint from lamin-x.com tonight. I'm very excited but afraid/almost positive that I'm going to screw it up Anyone use this type of tail light film on their car and have any tips/volunteers to do it for me?

yeah it depends. lot of people have reported it happening, others not. Not sure what it depends on. It's not really an issue per se, anyway. Truth is they aren't the best tires in the world though... I don't know what I'll replace them with once their life's up though.
