Steve and I put in the koni's and s-techs last night (only the front so far because of time constraints) but man does that make a difference. Even on full soft it's very noticeable how much better the car is. The car rides a bunch lower (barely two fingers between fender and tires) and it responds so much better. Can't wait to feel it with the rears done.
I'd like to see a pic when completed. What size tires are you running now and are you having any issues with this setup on Ohio roads?
Trust me, you're wrong

I'm guessing Danny's car looks something like this right about now.
Anyways, spring compressors were mine, both sets. Hopefully you guys preloaded the bushings when you put these on.
Also, Danny, you need to change your registration to SM for the first event. Big wing is illegal in ST regardless of functionality. You can only run the stock wing or no wing in ST* classes. It's the rules man. If we could all just prep our cars however and ask people in the class to overlook illegal mods then there would be no point to class structure.
Granted its just local that you are running, but if people (especially new people) see that there are exceptions being made for certain people, then they are going to try and push the envelope as far as what they can get away with. Then it becomes a pissing match with people bitching that we allowed some people to run illegal mods in classes and not allowed other people to do so. It's much easier and fair to all competitors that you run the class your car falls into due to modifications, or swap the wing off for events.
I know you are going to say "well it doesn't matter because I have only ever run 3 events and I'm not going to win anything anyway" and "I'm just coming out to have fun and I don't care if I win" but when we start allowing a little here and a little there, we may as well let people put aftermarket turbos on normally aspirated cars in stock class and have a free for all.
Also, asking people in the class if they care about the mod and having them be ok with it being there won't solve the issue of other people in other classes seeing it happen. Say everyone that runs STX says sure, go ahead and run the wing. Then someone in STR replaces their steering wheel on their S2000 and doesn't get class approval and has to bump up to BSP. All it takes is that person to complain and pitch a bitch that one guy was allowed to run illegal mods in a class and he wasn't.
So in short, it would be my strong suggestion to either change classes, or take the wing off for the events.

That's no problem Brian. Could you ask Meghan to make me an M? I'll pay at first event. We preloaded wrong the first time and we got it right right after. I cross referenced with others running the same setup and it seems right. They're still settling though.

Also who says I'm not winning? I'd like to lol! I'm not bothered which class I'm in since I'm looking at raw times anyway. first 3 events I'll be on my crap tires so I can get used to the suspension and dial the front in.
funny pic btw.

The proper way to measure the ride height is from the center of the hub to the inside edge of the fender. Fender gap will increase and decrease depending on tire outside diameter. With the 255 40 17's your gap will increase as the outside diameter of the tire is smaller than what you have on there now.
I'll check with Meg and see if she can get some M's made. I know she is not using the supplier she had before and is sourcing a new one, so I don't know if she can have them done in time (read: waiting for a large order to offset the cost)

You know what? Ask,Megan to make an S and an M in red white blue so they match please.
Also article 14 of the 2012 rules state that regional and local clubs should overlook body modifications so that a stock 8 with mazdaspeed kit doesn't get put into SM exactly for that reason. Not quite the same as a steering wheel change or whatnot. I think if it's good enough for SCCA it should be good enough for NORA right? I'll ask for clarification.

This has been brought up and beaten to death tons of times already this season. Hence the reason I gave the example of someone being allowed to run in a class even though they have illegal modifications. Even by doing that someone else with a different illegal mod is going to bitch about not being able to run whatever class they want because the rules were bent for someone else.*
It has always been the standing with NORA to run the class your car is prepped for. *If we make an exception for even just one person, then everyone is going to want the same leniency.*
Also, it's not stated they "should", it's stated that they are free to allow their version of body kit allowances that would otherwise be illegal for national competition at their discression. This falls back on my statement that (again) people will bitch and complain because other people are allowed to skirt the rules with illegal parts but they aren't.
We run as if you are at a national event. Prep the car for the class. Nothing more.

I posted on Nora and asked for clarification.
Also I'm not bending or breaking the rules because it's in the rules.
I don't care either way but if the rules apply to me then they apply to everyone. It isn't right that a bone stock 8 with a mazdaspeed bumper or a wing or whatever should have to run against fully prepared supra's in the case of SM. the 8 will be annihilated in that class.
I'll adhere to what the officials say but since it's in the rules I call bullshit.

Dude, it's in the rules only as a SUGGESTION. It in itself IS NOT A RULE
It's not bullshit, it's the rules. And I'll say the same thing on NORA. Other people have already asked about this. They were told to run the class their cars are prepped for.
And btw, most Supras handle like ****

Calm down lol! All I'm asking on Nora is what they stand on the matter is and if they apply the SUGGESTION. If I get a direct answer then I will gladly adhere to that.

I summarized it best on Nora. If they allow your wing, they have to allow all wings. That means ones that actually function. And this is the point you are missing.

Lmao. Just google it will be my answer from now on lol. It doesn't bother me what others say or think as long as I like it.
You know what that shelf holds good too Brian? Cigarettes! Hmmmmmmmmmm nicotine. Delicious satisfying calming cigarettes.

My pocket holds cigarettes too. I just got done smoking one on my way home. At least I don't have to worry about them falling out of my pocket like I would falling off a bookshelf.
SHKWAV
lol. too funny. but umm... should say "who can't", not "that can't" unless you've ceased to be a person.
ok! So... more important question, Tilted Kilt get together -- when?

I also visited the sample room when I planned on wrapping my truck in matte black vinyl, but that proved way more complicated than I expected, so I have probably 60" x 30-50 ft of that material in my garage if any one wants to pick some up and play with wrapping, or even just using it to cut your own numbers out by hand.
