"Notchy"
I just changed the tranny fluid to Redline 2 weeks ago and put the short shifter in. I suspect it was just not well gressed when I bought it. I will try to greese it tonight. Thanks for the advice. Will let you know.
Doc - I did a PDX with SCCA over at Nelson Ledges. The deal is pretty much the same as NASA. 20 minute sessions and, depending on entrants, they try to get 4 stints in. We actually had a lot more track time at Nelson than that.
I think we did 2 sessions @ 25 minutes and 2 @ 30 minutes. I was absolutely EXHAUSTED at the end. I do not recommend this. You start to go brain dead in the last session and start missing the apex/line. BUt seat time is hard to come by.

Too soon for me, I am trying to squeeze in sometime to do the water pump, thermostat, and coolant swap.
Next weekend perhaps?
Read the calendar wrong I guess. . . but that's cool! That means I get to race! . . . well, drive around in a manner which I call racing - assuming I get the work done. If not, then no racey. . .
Unless someone wants to let me drive their car???

Steve - Brian is coming over on Thursday night to finish putting my exhaust back on and putting in the rear coilovers (fronts are all done). If you want to stop up then I can get you your brakes. If you're at the AutoX on Sunday and it's at Northfield I might be able to swing over there and hand-deliver them. We could probably change them out before your sessions or you can do them immediately after. I've got a Christening I've got to go to so I can't stay long.

And, my weekend plans are still in the air. I need to hear from Jon if he's free to come down and help me with the water pump thermostat. I really don't want to autocross without taking care of that.
Plus I have browns tix for saturday night and with my brother being in town, I am supposed to go hang out with friday... so much crap packed into one weekend.

Jon - Does friday afternoon work? Earlier the better. And I am planning to have a bunch of coolant and distilled water on hand for the swap.
TJ: Yeah, I forgot all about the pipe. . . crap. I'm tied up tonight and tomorrow night. Can your dad hold on to it until friday night/saturday? When is your trash day? I don't care if he leaves it on the curb and I just dumpster dive for it.

2-3ish? It'll have to be a hurry up job. Just walk me through what I need to do for the first couple steps so hopefully I can have that done by the time you get here.
1. Drain Coolant from engine block+Radiator (if needed)
2. . . . umm. . . hmm. Admire new water pump and wait for Jon.

Lets shoot for 2pm
Which never happens with your car
3. Remove hoses going to the ACV and thermostat.
4. It'll be helpful to unbolt the ACV hard pipe that runs near the header because it'll be easier to get the thermostat out with that pipe removed.
5. Loosen tension at the alternator and remove drive belt.
6. Continue to admire water pump and wait for Jon

nahh i wont leave it on the street for you. my dad will hang onto it as long as he knows its gonna be leavin soon. he just said if i have no intentions with it he'll take it to the scrap yard.
Sounds good! I'll try to have as much done as I can.
Also, when i dropped the winter wheels off at Streets, he does live in Settlers landing. Seemed like a nice complex, idk about pricing or anything.
Well, my old midpipe they might because the guts are out of it. Depends on where you go though.

Scrap yards may take a cat...but they won't pay you for a cat....or they aren't supposed to pay you for a cat. It's one of those parts that supposedly must be disposed of properly things.
We pay $803 + utilities for a 2 bedroom.

First floor plan on that list. That was negotiated down from over $850 a year ago.
We just resigned another year lease at the same price, but they initially came back with $880 something.
Water normally runs us ~$30/month. Gas has been around 20 in the summer, electric has been about $80 running the AC a good amount.
They are really nice apartments though. Your own laundry machine, really nice pool and gym.

Difference between a gutted cat and a stright pipe is that you still have the resonating chamber where the cat was. This will disrupt airflow more than a straight pipe causing less of a power gain...however...if you knew someone that could cut it out and weld a pipe in there, or insert one through the gutted cat...it would be the same as a straight pipe.

Might just be fluid time.
