I've got an appointment this thursday to get my car taken care of. I'm hoping that I don't get any power loss at all over this. I'll **** if I do.
I spoke to the guy that works there over the weekend and he said that they'll fill up my tank for me, so I'm gonna drive it to work tomorrow if it's nice outside.

 

i didn't notice any power difference, though its tough to tell minor differences

 

according to the dealer notice, they are supposed to top off your tank and clean the inside and outside of your car. So when I get mine back, I'll chew into them if it isn't detailed.

 

I still haven't gotten mine back or heard anything from them. If my tank is not topped off with premium and car cleaned inside and out AND a beautiful woman is not the passenger seat someone may be hurt. I'm calling tomorrow as I told them to call me before they do anything and I haven't heard a word.

If I come to pick it up and there is a reconditioned "new" engine in it I'm going to flip my ****. Castrucci Mazda just made my list.

Waterlogged I need a quick run through on cleaning my K&N.
And speaking of car washing.........Any one know where I can get a good wash/wax and get rid of some swirl marks?

I can certainly help you clean the K&N. I just did it last weekend. It's easiest to take off the strut tower bar, and everything leading up to the throttle body. It sounds like a lot, but it's really not all that terrible. You'll also need to make sure you have both K&N filter cleaner and the oil. The part that takes the longest of the whole thing is waiting for the filter to dry before you re-oil it. If you want to swing by Sunday we can watch the football game and have a filter cleaning party.

As far as the wax... what baseballgenius said. I use Zaino and make sure that I have an afternoon free to do 3 or 4 coats. That usually lasts at least 6 months and works beautifully.

Sunday for the game would be good. Take the car apart and clean the filter... let the filter dry during the first half of the game... oil the filter at half-time... re-oil after 3rd quarter... then put everything back together after the game.

If that doesn't work out just let me know. I think I'm relatively open this Saturday, too.

 

I'm gonna order redline for the tranny and diff. Maybe we can get together for that too since you've done it. But my next 2 weekends might not be doable...

I've done the tranny and diff juices twice now, but I'll need someone else's garage because my one-car garage just doesn't offer the room needed to crawl under the car. I've got everything else, though.

Chico, Sunday is shaping up to be a better day for me. I'm volunteering to chat with some kids Saturday with the same medical problems I had as a kid. If you're wanting to do the filter you need a good couple of hours to allow it to dry before re-oiling it. If Sunday doesn't work for you then I can give you a call when I get back from the kid thingie.
