The shocks are great for the track and street use. When set to full-stiff they can knock your fillings out... when turned down to full soft they are slightly harder than stock but definitely get rid of the floating. As far as springs... I might be pulling out my RB springs, rear sway (still not sure on the front one), and intake soon and sell them to go towards an RB racing exhaust and a new set of wheels/tires. The RB springs give me the perfect ride height and with the Konis they're a match made in heaven. Just ask chico about our little onramp adventure this past weekend.

I've officially decided I'm going to B-Stock class next year. There's just no way to be competitive in STU without spending a small fortune to reduce weight and have custom suspensions built. I'm inching closer to the STi's and Evo's but without the extra 130hp+ to the wheels it's just impossible to win on any course that requires acceleration. With a set of race tires I could potentially do relatively well in BS.

So... to make a long story short fisherdn, if you want to continue to autocross be thinking about what class you are wanting to run and how competetive you'd like to be. Shock replacements such as Koni yellows or Tokico D-spec are legal but springs are not.

Yeah, I don't remember if a short shifter is stock legal or not. But if you wish to stay in B stock it's not like that's something that's hard to swap out. I used to swap a cold air intake with the stock box for race day. It's not so terrible if you only have to do it once a month or so.

Changing the subject

Bommarito Mazda in St. Peters sucks at that thing they call customer service. Which dealer do you guys get serviced at;?

And second I have been scanning the other posts about the recall blah blah blah and don't need to know about it, but only if anyone has gone in for a check up and what has gone on? I am getting ready to call a dealer someone else trusts.

I set up my appointment for next week...for the emissions recal.
Apparently they're changing out some parts. Curious what they're going to do.

Anyway, I know that Phil doesn't like them, but I really like going to Auffenberg Mazda in O'Fallon IL.
I bought my car from Randy Blount in St. Charles. They are very customer service orriented also, it's just a long drive for me. So I go to the guys in O'Fallon...their service dept. is really nice.

Did you guys get notices regarding the recall? I have not received anything. Is there a website to check to see if your on the recall list or something?

I went to the DUB car show yesterday. It was smaller than I thought it would be. A lot of Hummers, Chargers, the other Dodge station wagon thingie, Cutlas's (old school), Lexus's, and Corvettes. Some unique stuff too. And luckely one Mazda RX8. It looked like something out of the Fast and Furious. Kitted to the gills. Carbon fiber and decaled up. Oh and I forgot to mention drapped over the hood was Asian model Eri Moriyama. SWEET. I do have pictures so I will attempt to post them.

fisherdn, Get your butt dyno calibrated, too. I was curious if the new flash eliminates some power like it's rumored to.

chico, I completely forgot that car show was this weekend. I was so psyched about having a weekend I could finally relax! I managed to finally pull the air filter out of the revi and clean it, tighten the suspension a bit, etc. So I guess it wasn't a complete wash of a weekend. I discovered that the "ram air" of the revi definitely likes to suck in dirt. OMG, I think I freed up 10 hp just by cleaning that filter! I literally had a pile of dirt and pebbles on my driveway from tapping the filter on the ground once. Granted it hasn't been cleaned since I put the thing in a year ago. Guess I need to clean it a bit more routinely, eh?

I'll try to calibrate the b.d. If I lose power I'll be pissed. So far so good - my loaner is a brand new cx7 with which I am pleasantly surprised. You can definitely feel the turbo kick. It makes me miss boost soooo bad. Also, they said they'll fill up my tank, so I recommend all of you go with an empty tank. Should pick up the car at the end of the day and will update.

I got it back. So far it feels ok. He said all they did was reflash the ecu and test the cat, which passed. I asked about the compression test i thought they would do and he said they'll only do that if you have starting or drivability problems. The first thing he asked when i dropped it off was whether it had those problems, which it doesn't, and I told him that. So if you want a compression test tell them you've seen some issues with starting and drivability. Mike i thought of you cause you said it died on you the one time while idling. I really hope the new flash didn't slow this thing down. More seat time should tell.

I dropped mine off today and told them to do the compression/vaccum test. They are also giving me the reflash. The guy originally told me I was going to need a new engine which freaked me out, but I told him not to do anything until he calls me so we'll see what happens.

Law school sucks as always, but I got my incentive to continue and work hard on friday of last week when Gallop, Johnson, and Neuman asked me back for next summer. So I'll be back in the Lou for at least next summer. I might be coming back to St. Louis sometime soon depending on if I can get back on top of my work.

For my rental I got some massive abortion of a suv called a chevy uplander. I almost fought the guy to the death at enterprise.

bjkicker, how long did it take you to get your car back from fusz? That's right across the street from where I work and it would be super convenient for me if they do a good job and don't dilly dally all day.

yah, its right by where i work as well, so its super convenient. I just dropped it off at 8, they had a rental car waiting (though i didnt need it), and they called at like 3:30 or so and told me it was all done. If you waited thou it would take at least an hr. Just drop it off, very painless.

awesome. Did you notice any power loss? I'll probably set something up for next week if all is well.
