End of day one. Left the digital Cam at work . argg not pic.

Aways, The install was tougher then I thought. :D. So many tight places ..
Good thing I didn't Drive it during winter hehehe. The nuts and bolts came of fairy easy.
However, the OS did not come off. I stripped the bolt. So I had to cut the wire . It should work if I put the wires back together again. Hope I didn't broke it.

Turbo

Day 2:

Piping Done!!. Looks like I need to go grab another front OS. The old one still refused to move. Anyways, I went ahead and install the down pipe to the Cat and turbo. Boy, did it took awhile to tighten the Down pipe to the turbo. SO
LITTLE ROOM TO WORK WITH.
With a little coaching. Connecting the Down pipe to the CAT was easy because I did not completely remove the CAT Of the car's body.
The Piping and reasemble took longer then I thought. I still have to install the e-management system.

Ran into a problem. The down pipe adapter bracket holes did not line up with the stock ones.
tomorrow I will drill another hole.

Last step is to check every nuts and bolts are tighen. Fill her up with oil, give the turbo some oil and ZOOM ZOOM ZOOM.

:D

So how does the GReddy turbo hook up? Is it one of those that the compressor is in the back of the car and you have to run airlines to the back of that car? Or did they place the compressor up in the engine compartment somewhere?

Also does your kit have an intercooler? Where does that sucker get mounted?

Turbo location:
The kit comes with a header and you mount the turbo to it.

Intercooler:
Yes the Kit comes with an intercooler.

Its a bolt on kit. It comes with everything you need. But you will probably need to buy some add-on(BOV, Boost Gauge, Oil catch pan etc..). I only have the BOV add-on.
I plan on buyng a cheap boost gauge for now.

You can just call me pig-pen...It rains like an banchee when I'm at work, and I figure that should knock off a lot of the road dust and dirt...no, it just adds. Now if mother nature could just pressure wash the car and have a hot wax rain...I wouldn't grumble everytime I wash the car and it rains the next day.

ahah I will now have to wash mine. Got my Greasy hand print All over it. Once again Turbo is put on hold. ahhah must by the Saturday weather . Made me sick(Garage is not heated). Good part is I"ll have to call in sick tomorrow. Which will give me time to run the welder near by . Don't have much left to do. All the hard work are done. I'll just spend an hour on Tuesday and Wensday. hehe I can't start her up until the new O2 sensor gets here on Wensday.

Is the new O2 sensor needed for the turbo kit, or did you kill the old one during the install?

Alot of the people that install the greddy found that the stock O2 sensor either strip
or will not come out.

hey guys I saw a yellow RX-8 today...with a small 'zoom zoom' logo in white on the back bumper, I left a note to say hi...I'll be embarrassed if it is Frank (Frank is the only yellow 8 owner I know :o)

I've got a new digital camera coming on friday so hopefully I'll get some nice pics for rx8club (i'll blurr out the license plates of course)

:D I've gotten several emails about the meet...people are excited!
Remember Sunday, may 22 at 1pm at ridgedale mall...PM me for more info .
